We join with you in lifting up the leaders of our nation and the world before the throne of grace, knowing that "the kingโs heart is in Yahwehโs hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1). It is right and good to pray for those in authority, as Scripture commands, "that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:2). We recognize that God establishes all authority (Romans 13:1), and we submit to His sovereign will, even as we intercede for wisdom, humility, and godly discernment to guide those who govern.
Father, we ask that You would raise up leaders who fear You, who walk in integrity, and who seek Your kingdom above all else. Grant them the courage to stand against the schemes of the enemy, to resist the pressures of ungodly alliances, and to uphold truth in the face of deception. We pray against the influence of false teachings and ideologies that seek to undermine Your Word, and we ask that You would expose and dismantle every work of darkness that opposes the Gospel. May the light of Christ shine brightly in the halls of power, that nations may turn to You in repentance and faith.
We also lift up the spread of the Gospel, that the Great Commission would be fulfilled in our time. "Go and make disciples of all nations," Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19), and we pray for open doors, bold witnesses, and hearts softened to receive the truth. May free speech and the proclamation of Your Word flourish, unshackled by censorship or oppression. We stand against every spirit of deception that seeks to distort Your truth, and we declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18).
Lord, we thank You for the leaders who honor You, who govern with justice, and who seek Your wisdom. Strengthen them, protect them, and surround them with godly counsel. For those who do not yet know You, we pray that their hearts would be drawn to Christ, for "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). May they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus, the only way to the Father (John 14:6).
We put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm against the spiritual forces of evil. We plead the blood of Jesus over our leaders, our nations, and ourselves, trusting in Your protection and deliverance. May Your angels encamp around those who fear You (Psalm 34:7), and may Your peace guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We confess that You are working all things according to the counsel of Your will (Ephesians 1:11), and we trust in Your perfect plan. Even when we do not see the outcome, we rest in the promise that "all things work together for good for those who love God" (Romans 8:28). We thank You for hearing our prayers, and we commit our leaders, our nations, and the advance of Your kingdom into Your mighty hands.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
