We lift up these two precious souls to You, Father, knowing that Your heart is always inclined toward those who seek You—or even those who don’t yet know they are seeking You. For the man mentioned first, we pray earnestly that You would surround him with Your divine protection. Guard his steps, Lord, and keep him from harm, both seen and unseen. The world is full of snares, and the enemy would love nothing more than to lead him astray through recklessness or excess. We rebuke the spirit of drunkenness in Jesus’ name, for Scripture warns us that those who linger long at the wine will not inherit Your kingdom (Proverbs 20:1, Ephesians 5:18). Instead, we ask that You fill him with a thirst for righteousness, that he would crave Your presence more than any earthly pleasure.
Father, we also pray that You would draw his heart to Christ. If he does not yet know You as Savior and Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus died for his sins and rose again so that he might have eternal life (John 3:16). Soften his heart, Lord, and let him hear Your voice calling him to repentance and faith. If he is already a believer, we pray that You would deepen his walk with You, that he would grow in wisdom and discernment, and that his life would reflect the love and holiness of Christ.
As for love and marriage, we ask that You would prepare him for the sacred covenant of marriage if that is Your will for his life. Let him not rush into any relationship out of loneliness or impatience, but instead, let him seek a godly spouse who shares his faith and values. May he understand that marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and that it is a lifelong commitment, not to be entered into lightly. If he is currently in a relationship that does not honor You, we rebuke any ungodly attachments and ask that You would give him the strength to walk away, for Your Word is clear that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). Instead, let him seek a wife who fears You, one who will walk beside him in faith and righteousness.
For the second individual, we lift up their health and medical treatments to You, Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are already healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We pray that the medical treatments they are undergoing would be effective and that You would guide the hands of the doctors and nurses caring for them. Give them peace in the midst of uncertainty, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Most importantly, we pray that they would come to know You as their Savior if they do not already. Let this season of trial draw them closer to You, Lord, and let them experience the hope and comfort that can only be found in Christ.
We also pray for their spiritual journey. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them see their need for a Savior and embrace the gift of salvation that You freely offer. If they are already a believer, we ask that You would strengthen their faith, especially in this time of physical struggle. Let them trust in Your goodness and sovereignty, even when the path is difficult.
Father, we know that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We ask that You would work in the lives of these two individuals in ways that only You can. Break down the walls of pride, rebellion, or indifference that may be keeping them from fully surrendering to You. Let them experience Your love in a way that transforms their hearts and minds. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke every plan of the enemy to steal, kill, or destroy in their lives (John 10:10).
Lord, we also lift up the possibility of children in the context of marriage. We pray that if it is Your will, You would bless this union with the gift of children, and that those children would be raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Let them be arrows in the hands of a warrior, sent out into the world to advance Your kingdom (Psalm 127:4-5).
We commit these prayers to You, knowing that You hear us and that You are faithful to answer according to Your will. May Your name be glorified in every area of their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
