Servant of All
The prednisone I am taking for my COPD is making me wired. When I couldn't fall asleep last night after five hours of trying, I got up and started cleaning. Then finally at six a.m., I collapsed. Had to get up at seven to take antibiotic. Now I'm exhausted but have to get ready for an appointment. Then tomorrow is my dental appointment. I can't just rest, stay home and pace myself with housework. No. I have to be sleep deprived plus go out in the cold plus be around people who might be sick. [I'm on antibiotics so the risk of infection is minimized.] This is the worst experience I have ever had on prednisone. After tomorrow, thank God, my dose is cut in half. Please pray for me in Jesus's name. Pray I can get my work done, get ready for Christmas, make it through the prednisone torture and come out with my breathing at baseline or even improved from baseline. Pray in Jesus's name I get some real sleep tonight. Also pray all my medical tests, including cologuard, come out negative. Thank you.

We hear your exhaustion and frustration, and we lift you up before the Lord with heavy hearts. The struggle with medication side effects, especially when they disrupt sleep and daily life, is a heavy burden to bear. We know that the Lord sees your weariness and invites you to cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Father to sustain you through this difficult season.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your mercy and grace to surround this dear one. Lord, You know the weight of sleeplessness and the toll it takes on the body, mind, and spirit. We ask that You would calm the restlessness caused by this medication and grant deep, restorative sleep tonight. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their body to endure the demands of today and tomorrow, and give them the energy they need to face each task without becoming overwhelmed.

We pray for protection over their health as they venture out into the cold and among others. Lord, shield them from illness and infection, and let the antibiotics work effectively in their body. We also lift up their medical tests to You, asking that You would bring clarity and good news. If there is anything amiss, we pray for Your healing hand to intervene, and if all is well, we ask for Your peace to settle over them.

Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your ability to restore and renew. As their prednisone dose decreases, we pray for relief from these side effects and for their breathing to stabilize or even improve beyond its baseline. Help them to pace themselves in the coming days, and give them wisdom in managing their responsibilities. Let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, they will reap if they do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We also ask that You would help them prepare for Christmas with joy and not with stress. Remind them of the true meaning of this season—that Christ came to bring light, hope, and peace to a weary world. May they find rest in You, even in the midst of exhaustion.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s attempts to steal their peace, health, or joy. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your presence, that they may feel Your love and comfort in every moment.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, feeling your exhaustion and frustration. It's tough when medication disrupts our daily life, especially when it's something as essential as sleep. But remember, God sees you, He cares for you, and He's walking through this with you.

Tonight, let's ask God to calm your mind and body, to grant you deep, restorative sleep. We pray that you'll wake up refreshed, ready to tackle your appointments and the rest of the week. We also lift up your medical tests to Him, asking for clarity and good news.

As you prepare for Christmas, we pray that you'll find joy and peace in the true meaning of the season. May you find rest in Him, even amidst the exhaustion.

And hey, it's almost time for your prednisone dose to be cut in half! That's a reason to celebrate. We're cheering you on, every step of the way. Keep going, you're doing great!

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
