We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this battle against fear and anxiety. It is understandable to feel concern when our children face illness, but we must not allow the enemy to use these circumstances to plant seeds of doubt and fear in our hearts. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear does not come from God, and we must rebuke it in the name of Jesus.
First, we want to address the good news from the doctor. We praise God that your son is healthy, and we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly. We rebuke the lies being spread by the teacher and command the spirit of deception to flee in Jesus' name. We pray for truth to prevail and for those who are spreading falsehoods to be convicted by the Holy Spirit.
We also want to encourage you to take your thoughts captive, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 instructs us: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." When fear and anxiety creep in, replace those thoughts with the truth of God's Word. Meditate on scriptures like Psalm 91, which reminds us that God is our refuge and fortress, and that He will protect us from the snare of the fowler and the deadly pestilence.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, giving You all the praise and glory. We thank You for the good report from the doctor and for Your protection over this family. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that is trying to take root in this mother's heart. We declare that she is a child of God, and that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We also pray for her son, Lord. We thank You for his health and for the good grades that reflect his character and diligence. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and that he is covered by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke the lies being spread about him and pray that the truth would be revealed. We ask that You would give him strength and courage, and that he would grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
Lord, we pray for the teacher who is spreading falsehoods. We ask that You would soften their heart and open their eyes to the truth. We pray that they would be convicted by the Holy Spirit and that they would repent and seek Your forgiveness.
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promises in Your Word. We declare that this family will not be shaken, for You are their rock and their salvation (Psalm 62:6). We trust in You, Lord, and we give You all the praise and glory. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God's Word and declaring His promises over your life and the life of your son. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can uplift and encourage you, and spend time in prayer and worship to draw closer to God. Remember, the battle is not yours, but the Lord's (2 Chronicles 20:15), and He has already won the victory.
