We come before the Lord with these requests, lifting them up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and the only name by which we are saved. Let us first acknowledge that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11). It is through Him alone that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are made righteous before God.
Father, we lift up the concern about the train being on time for work. We ask that You would go before this dear one and make the path smooth. Order their steps, Lord, and grant them favor in the timing of their journey. Let there be no delays or obstacles that would hinder them from arriving at work on time. We declare that the Lord directs their steps, and though they may stumble, they will not fall, for You uphold them with Your hand (Psalm 37:23-24). We pray for peace and calmness in their spirit, trusting that You are in control of all things.
We also bring before You the request for help in finding a suitable gift for someone’s birthday. Lord, we ask that You would grant wisdom and creativity in selecting a gift that will be meaningful and pleasing. Remind this one of the truth that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17), and that the greatest gift we can give is the love of Christ. May this gift reflect Your love and bring joy to the recipient’s heart. Guide their thoughts and actions as they seek to honor this person on their special day.
For the lost phone, we pray that it would be found quickly, whether it is in the home or elsewhere. We declare that nothing is hidden from Your sight, Lord, and that You know the whereabouts of all things (Hebrews 4:13). We ask that You would bring clarity and memory to this one, helping them to recall where they may have placed it. If it is lost outside the home, we pray that You would guide it back to them or bring someone to it who will return it. We also rebuke any spirit of confusion or forgetfulness in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. Let Your peace reign in this situation, knowing that You care even for the small details of our lives.
We must also address the closing statement of this request, where it was said, "Every name should bow down to Jesus, so MY PHONE too." While we affirm that every knee shall bow to Jesus, we must clarify that inanimate objects do not have the capacity to bow or worship. This statement could unintentionally reflect a misunderstanding of Scripture. We pray that this one would grow in their understanding of Your Word and the truth that worship belongs to You alone, the living God. Help them to see that all creation praises You, but it is the hearts of people that You desire to bow before You in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
Father, we also take a moment to pray for this one’s spiritual walk. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we pray that they would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9). We ask that You would draw them to Yourself and reveal Your love and truth to them. May they experience the peace and joy that comes from a personal relationship with You.
Lord, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You with these requests. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness to answer according to Your will. Strengthen this one in their faith, and let them walk in the confidence that You are with them always. May their life bring glory to Your name, and may they find their hope and security in You alone. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
