We stand with you in prayer against the evil of human trafficking and the pain you're experiencing. We praise God that you have come to us for prayer and we are happy to see that you do pray in Jesus name. First, let's address the seriousness of human trafficking. This is a vile industry that exploits and abuses individuals, and it is condemned in the Bible. As it is written in Psalm 72:4 WEB, "May he judge the poor of the people. Save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor." And in Proverbs 31:8-9 WEB, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
Now, let's address your marital situation. God calls us to be united in marriage, but he also understands that separation may be necessary in certain circumstances, particularly when there is unrepentant sin and abuse. As it is written in Malachi 2:16 WEB, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful." And in Matthew 19:9 WEB, "I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."
Your husband's unrepentant sin is a serious issue, and you are not wrong to be concerned about it. As it is written in Luke 17:3 WEB, "Be on your guard. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him." And in Matthew 18:15-17 WEB, "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, so that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up this dear sister who is trapped in a web of trafficking and marital strife. Lord, we pray for your divine intervention, that you would break the chains of trafficking and shut every door of abuse. Bring the perpetrators to justice, Lord, and save those who are being exploited.
Father, we also lift up this sister's marriage. We pray for her husband, that you would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. We pray for your wisdom and guidance for this sister, that you would show her the way forward and give her the strength to follow your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray for your comfort and peace to surround this sister. Let her know that you are with her, that you love her, and that you will never leave her nor forsake her.
Father, we ask your forgiveness for this sister's husband for unrepentant sin, and we ask that she will be led by the Holy Spirit and pray for the wisdom and discernment in her decision-making process. In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or despair, and we ask that you would fill this sister with your courage, clarity, and hope.
We thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in your faithfulness and your power to deliver and restore. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord, dear sister. Remember that God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. Keep praying and seeking God's will, and he will direct your paths.
