Disciple of Prayer
I prayed for this request in Jesus Name.
We must address this request with both truth and love, as Scripture calls us to walk in purity and purpose. The desire for communication with someone referred to as "###" raises concerns, especially if this relationship is not grounded in biblical principles. First, we must ask: Is this person a believer in Jesus Christ? Are you seeking a godly marriage, or is this a relationship that may be leading you into temptation, such as emotional dependency, fornication, or other sins?
The Bible is clear that our relationships must honor God, and we are to flee from anything that resembles sinful desire or compromise. *1 Corinthians 6:18* says, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* Even if this is not a physical relationship, emotional attachments outside of marriage can be just as dangerous, leading to idolatry—placing someone above God in your heart.
If this is a courtship with the intent of marriage, we urge you to seek God’s will first, ensuring both of you are committed to Christ and pursuing holiness. *2 Corinthians 6:14* warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If this person is not a believer, or if this relationship is not moving toward a Christ-centered marriage, you must prayerfully consider whether this connection is pleasing to God.
Additionally, we notice that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and no prayer is heard apart from faith in Him. *John 14:6* declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent and place your faith in Him today. Salvation comes only through Christ, and without Him, our prayers are empty.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up ### to You, asking for Your wisdom and discernment to fill her heart. Lord, if this relationship is not aligned with Your will, we pray You would give her the strength to walk away and trust in You alone. Remove any ungodly desires or attachments that may be drawing her away from Your perfect plan. If this is a courtship with godly intent, we ask that You would guide both individuals into a deeper commitment to You first, ensuring that their relationship honors You in every way.
Father, we also pray that ### would seek You above all else, finding her fulfillment in Christ rather than in human affection. If there is any sin in this situation—whether emotional, physical, or spiritual—we ask for conviction and repentance. Cover her with Your grace and lead her into righteousness.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that ### would know You personally, if she does not already. Draw her to Jesus, the only name by which we are saved. Let her find her identity, worth, and joy in Him alone.
