We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for deliverance from torment and the hardness of hearts that perpetuate such suffering. Father, we acknowledge that vengeance belongs to You alone, and we trust in Your perfect justice. We pray for those who inflict pain—whether knowingly or unknowingly—asking that You break through the darkness in their hearts with the light of Your love and truth. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). May they come to know You, Lord, and turn from their ways.
We also humbly examine our own hearts, for none of us have fully surrendered to You. If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness within us, we ask for Your cleansing and renewal. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Create in us clean hearts, O God, and restore the joy of Your salvation.
We stand on the power of the blood of Jesus, which covers and protects us from every scheme of the enemy. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for restitution, compensation, and justice—not as the world gives, but as You decree in Your righteousness.
Lord, we also lift up any reading this who may not yet know You as Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved but the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If you are reading this and have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus, who died for you and rose again. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is a free gift—receive it today.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Redeemer and Defender. Amen.
