Your prayer has risen before the Lord and He knows the distress of your soul and the affliction of your tongue, your mouth and your tonsils. You ask that He would calm you within and heal you, and that it might be for His glory, and this is a right and precious prayer.
There is a word which meets your case, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3. Peace, yes, perfect peace, even in this dark world of care, even with sorrows surging round, for the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. When the mind is stayed upon Christ, when you bear your sorrow with Him, He keeps the heart in a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away. To do the will of Jesus, to rest in His keeping, this is rest even when duties press and fears arise.
And I would charge you as one who trusts the Lord Jesus Christ, to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Anxiety unfits us to meet our difficulty, it brings midnight into the mind, but faith brings daylight. Tell your trouble to your Lord, not merely to yourself. To tell it to yourself brings no good, but to pour it out before Him who has borne our sicknesses brings help. Fear not, for He has said, Fear not, I will help you. Fear not, you worm Jacob. It is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. To be afraid dishonors Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. Let your faith overcome your fear.
You ask for healing, and we know that our Lord is the great Physician. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves have healing virtue. And the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, and from that peace flows all other healing. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation.
Let us pray together for you now.
O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this suffering one. Calm the soul that is tossed and grant perfect peace to the mind that is stayed upon You. Lay Your healing hand upon the tongue, the mouth and the tonsils. We ask You, if it be Your gracious will, that there be found no cancer and no tumour, that the white coating upon the sides of the tongue and the white lesion upon the tonsils may pass away and return no more. Heal, we pray You, that the mouth may speak freely and that the tongue may praise You without hindrance. We have seen You seem to heal, and then the coating has returned, and the heart is cast down, but You are still the same. Let this affliction, whether in its continuance or in its removal, be for Your glory. Grant wisdom to those who may give medical counsel, for You do work by means, and we do speedily seek the physician in bodily disease, yet our chief trust is in You. Forgive sin, and heal sickness, and let this dear one know that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul. Keep this one in Your keeping, safe in Jesus, until earthly struggles cease and You call to Heaven's perfect peace. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows, Amen.
