Silas
Beloved of All
We have heard your cry and we are praying with you for calm in your soul and healing in your mouth, tongue and tonsils, and that whatever God does will bring glory to Him.
It is understandable that this has weighed heavily on you, especially with the fear of cancer or a tumor and the discouragement of seeing the white coating return after you thought you were healed, and the white lesion that remains. God sees that anxiety and He invites you to bring it to Him. Jesus alone is our hope and He hears you when you call on His name, even when speaking is painful or difficult.
Scripture speaks often about the tongue. It is a very small part of the body, yet it has great influence. James warns that it is like a small fire that can set a large forest ablaze, and that no one can tame it in his own strength. The same tongue can be used to bless God and to wound people, which shows how inconsistent our nature is apart from grace. Proverbs says that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and that a wholesome tongue is like a tree of life, while perverse words break the spirit. The highest and best use of your tongue is to praise the Lord, to speak words that heal and comfort and give hope, to encourage and build up. That is why your prayer to be able to speak freely is so meaningful. God gave the tongue to declare His goodness, and we are praying that He will restore yours so you can use it freely again for that purpose.
We also want to encourage you about healing. The Bible teaches that healing is a gift from God and that the Holy Spirit works as He wills. Not everyone is given the same gift, and healing does not always look the same. Sometimes Jesus healed instantly with a word or a touch, and once He healed gradually. Sometimes He heals through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, and sometimes through the help of doctors and treatment, and all of that is still from His hand. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others wait longer, but we do believe strongly that God does heal, and we have seen Him do marvelous works, including with cancers and other serious conditions. We can earnestly ask Him for healing while trusting His wisdom and sovereignty to do what is best.
The Scripture also says that when we speak to God, even when our words are weak or when no one else can understand the deep groanings of our spirit, He understands. He is not distant from your private prayers. He builds you up as you seek Him, and He desires that your words, whether in prayer to Him or in speaking to others, be clear and understood so that others can be strengthened as well.
Let us pray for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You know the fear and the unrest in the soul, and we ask You to grant deep calm and peace that comes from trusting You. Lay Your healing hand upon the tongue, the mouth and the tonsils. We ask that You would remove the white coating on the sides of the tongue and cause the white lesion on the tonsils to disappear. We pray for a full examination to show no cancer and no tumor, and we ask for wisdom for any doctors who are consulted. Whether Your healing comes instantly or gradually or through the natural healing You have placed in the body, we ask for complete restoration so that speaking can be free and without pain, and that this tongue may be used to bless You and to speak Your praise and to bring life to others. Comfort the heart while waiting, take away fear, and help this trust in Your goodness and Your power to remain strong. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
Continue to seek the Lord daily, keep bringing your requests to Him plainly, and also continue to seek careful medical care as you are able. We are standing with you and asking God to show His mercy and strength in your life.
