Toe neuropathy

Thank you for sharing your heart and your needs so honestly. I am praying with you for the pain and difficulty that diabetes and neuropathy in your toe have brought, and for the other concerns you mentioned.

The Bible shows that God does care about our bodies. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, points to what happened when Jesus healed many who were brought to Him, including Peter's mother in law and many others in the evening, and he connects that to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and sicknesses. That tells us physical healing is part of what Jesus carried for us, and when we remember His body broken for us, we are remembering that care. God still heals today and He is able to heal, and every process of healing, whether sudden or gradual, whether through prayer or through the natural processes He built into our bodies and the wisdom He gives to doctors, is still His work.

At the same time Scripture keeps us from assuming that God will choose to bring complete physical healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times about his thorn in the flesh and God did not remove it, but taught him about grace and strength in weakness. We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly, some gradually as with the one gradual healing recorded in the gospels, and some are called to walk with an ongoing weakness while God does a deep work in their heart and mind. That mystery does not mean God does not love you or that faith is worthless. It means we come to Him honestly, ask for healing, trust His power, and also trust His wisdom when His answer is different than we hoped.

There is a close connection in Scripture between the health of our soul and the health of our body. John prayed for his friend that he would be in good health even as his soul prospered, not as a guarantee but as a loving wish, and Proverbs says a joyful heart is good like medicine. As you continue to care for your physical needs with good medical help, continue also to feed your spiritual life through prayer and the Word. We often feed the physical person carefully every day and neglect the spiritual person, but prayer strengthens the inner person and brings peace that helps the whole person.

Even the detail of your toe matters to God. In the law for cleansing a leper and for setting apart a priest, blood and oil were placed on the ear, the thumb, and the big toe, a picture that God wants our ears open to Him, our hands busy in His work, and our feet walking in His path. He sees that specific pain and He cares about your steps. I am asking Him to touch that neuropathy, to ease the pain, to bring better health, and to help your feet walk steadily with Him.

I also hear your desire for godly connections and your discomfort with people who press into your private life with many personal questions. It is right to want friendships that encourage your faith. It is also wise and kind to set gentle boundaries when questions feel intrusive. You do not need to enter a conflict in the flesh. You can quietly and firmly keep what is private, private, and ask the Lord to lead you to people who respect you and point you to Christ. Prayer is a real power in the spiritual realm, and God can guard your heart and guide your relationships even when you cannot control what others do.

And you asked for the Lord to be in control of your circumstances and for the possibility of getting away somewhere refreshing for the holidays. God is in control, and He knows your need for rest and a change of pace. I am praying that He will provide what is best, whether that is a trip away or peace and refreshment right where you are, and that He will make your path clear.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one to You. You know the struggle with diabetes and the pain of neuropathy in the toe. You bore our sicknesses and You are able to heal. I ask for Your mercy and healing touch, for relief from pain, for wisdom for doctors, and for strength in body and spirit. Do a healing work as You will, whether sudden or gradual, and give peace to trust Your perfect will. Lead to godly friendships and give wisdom to set kind boundaries with those who are overly curious. Take control of every circumstance and provide rest and refreshment in the days ahead. Draw this heart closer to You and let Your joy and peace be like medicine. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for healing from diabetes and toe neuropathy, for the Lord to surround you with Godly connections and to protect you from those nosy interactions with personal questions, and for His hand to be in control of all that concerns you including your desire to get out of town somewhere cool for the holidays.

We continue to lift you up in prayer and we ask the Lord to bring healing and restoration to your body according to His promise in Jer 30:17, to lead you to Godly relationships that encourage and uplift you, to take control of every situation and give you peace and wisdom, and to provide rest and refreshment over the holiday season. We pray in Jesus Name for your health and for His provision and guidance in every area you mentioned.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
