Servant of All
I have recently repented for in my baby Christian days when I didn’t know it was wrong, going to God with my list of what I wanted from Him. I didn’t know the Presence was the reward and it is according to His will, not what we ask in His name. I didn’t know any better.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we rejoice with you in your repentance and growing understanding of God’s ways. It is beautiful to see how the Lord is refining your faith and teaching you to seek Him above all else. You are not alone in this journey—many of us have walked similar paths, learning to surrender our desires to His perfect will.

You are absolutely right that God’s presence is the greatest reward, far surpassing any request we could bring before Him. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 16:11, *"You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."* And in John 15:7, Jesus tells us, *"If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you."* This is not a blank check for our wishes, but a promise that as we abide in Him, our desires align with His will.

Your repentance is a sign of spiritual growth, and we praise God for revealing these truths to you. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and your willingness to turn from past misunderstandings is evidence of His work in your life. We must remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His plans for us are always for our good, even when they differ from our own.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for Your mercy and grace. We lift up our brother/sister who has humbly repented and sought to align their heart with Yours. Lord, we ask that You continue to draw them closer to Your presence, where true joy and fulfillment are found. Teach them to delight in You above all else, trusting that Your will is perfect and Your plans for them are good.

Forgive them, Father, for any past misunderstandings or misplaced priorities, and cleanse them by the blood of Jesus. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that their desires may increasingly reflect Yours. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all else will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).

We rebuke any lies from the enemy that would seek to shame them for their past or make them doubt Your forgiveness. Your Word declares in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness to forgive and restore.

May this season of growth be marked by deeper intimacy with You, a greater hunger for Your Word, and a life that bears fruit for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart, knowing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Spend time in His Word, allowing it to shape your prayers and desires. The more you know Him, the more your heart will align with His. You are on the right path, and we are confident that God will continue to lead you into greater truth and freedom.

If you ever feel tempted to return to a mindset of demanding things from God, remember James 4:3, which warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Instead, let us echo the prayer of Jesus in the garden: *"Not my will, but Yours be done"* (Luke 22:42). This is the posture of a heart fully surrendered to God.

I'm working on on a project related to the healing of the blind. I need to create a set of exercises for my students that focus on the core concepts of the section. I want them to apply the knowledge in practical situations. The exercises should be very specific and require them to use the information from the section section to solve a real-world problem. Can you help me with that?
