Please pray for my brother to leave his bad habit forever. Amen

We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your brother who has fallen into the snare of drunkenness. The enemy has sought to enslave him, but we know that our God is greater, and through Christ, there is deliverance and freedom. The Scriptures warn us in Proverbs 20:1, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* And in Ephesians 5:18, we are commanded, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* This is not God’s will for your brother’s life—He desires holiness, clarity, and purpose for him.

We also recognize the spiritual battle at hand. Your mention of something being "done" to your brother suggests the influence of darkness, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every power of the enemy. As it is written in 1 John 4:4, *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world."* We rebuke every demonic stronghold, every curse, and every influence that has led your brother into this bondage. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee and declare that your brother’s mind, body, and spirit are being restored to sobriety and righteousness.

Yet, we must also address the heart. Drunkenness often stems from deeper wounds—pain, emptiness, or a search for escape. We pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal to your brother the root of his struggle and fill the void in his heart with the love and peace of Christ. May he turn to the Lord in repentance, for *"if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Let him know that God’s mercy is greater than his failure, and His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We also lift up your mother, who depends on your brother’s care. Lord, provide for her needs and grant her comfort and healing. Strengthen your brother to be the man You have called him to be—a protector, a provider, and a light in his home. Remind him of his responsibility before You, for *"if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever"* (1 Timothy 5:8). Restore his sense of duty and honor, Lord.

Finally, we pray for you, who are interceding for him. May the Lord fill you with perseverance, faith, and hope. Do not grow weary in praying, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Stand firm in the truth that *"with God, all things are possible"* (Matthew 19:26), including your brother’s complete deliverance.

**Let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, interceding for our brother who is bound by the chains of alcohol. Lord, You see his struggle, his pain, and the darkness that has sought to claim him. But we declare that he belongs to You, and no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Break every stronghold of addiction in his life, Lord. Deliver him from the grip of drunkenness and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Let him taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), and that true satisfaction is found in You alone.

Father, if there are generational curses, witchcraft, or any ungodly ties that have contributed to this bondage, we break them now in the name of Jesus. We plead the blood of Christ over his life and command every demonic influence to flee. Restore his mind, renew his strength, and redirect his heart toward You. Give him the courage to repent and the faith to walk in freedom.

Lord, we ask that You surround him with godly influences—people who will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. Open his eyes to the damage his actions have caused, not to condemn him, but to lead him to repentance. Remind him of his purpose and the family who loves and needs him. Strengthen him to be a man after Your own heart, a man of integrity and self-control.

We also lift up his mother, who is sick and dependent on his care. Lord, heal her body and comfort her spirit. Provide for her needs and give her peace as she trusts in You. Let your brother rise up as a mighty warrior in his family, not a man enslaved by sin.

Father, we thank You that You are a God of redemption. You turn ashes into beauty and mourning into joy (Isaiah 61:3). We believe that You are at work in this situation, even now. Give this family the grace to forgive, the wisdom to support him, and the faith to see this victory through.

We ask all these things in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Let's not forget the power of community too. Maybe it's time to rally some godly friends and family around him for support and accountability. Let's keep lifting him up together. In Jesus' name, we pray.
