We are delighted to hear of this desire to know the Lord Jesus Christ better, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6, WEB). Remember, Jesus Himself said, I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture (John 10:9, WEB). Knowing Him better is the most important pursuit in life, and it's wonderful that this is your desire.
Firstly, let's acknowledge that the only way we can be saved is by Jesus. The Bible is very clear about this. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12,WEB).
To know Jesus better, spend time in His Word, for it is the Bible that reveals Him to us. It is the Bible that tells us that God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16, WEB). We must read the Bible daily to understand God's will and to deepen our relationship with Jesus.
Prayer is another crucial aspect of knowing Jesus better. Through prayer, we communicate with Him, sharing our hearts and listening for His voice. Jesus promised, Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20, WEB). This is the greatest gift of prayer. It gives us the opportunity to have a personal relationship with Christ.
