We join you in lifting up your friend and all those you mentioned to God. This is what true friendship is about, interceding for one another. We are reminded of this in James 5:16 (WEB), "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as this is the only way we can approach God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" and in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, bringing our friend and her partner, along with their family and friends, to Your throne of grace. We ask, Lord, that You soften their hearts and draw them to Jesus. Reveal Yourself to them, Father, and grant them the gift of repentance that leads to salvation.
Father, we know that it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We ask that they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus and that the Holy Spirit would fill them and empower them to live lives that honor You. We ask that You would bring godly friends and family into their lives.
We also pray for her relationship. We believe that God created marriage to be between a man and a woman. We pray that You will guide them and show them Your will for their lives. We pray that if it is Your will, You will guide them to godly spouses and marriages that honor You.
Lord, we ask that You would use us to be a light to them, to show them the love of Christ, and to speak truth into their lives. Give us the wisdom and the courage to do so.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Regarding relationships, we encourage you to always stand for biblical principles. We encourage you to continue praying for your friend and as well as her partner. We encourage you to share the gospel with them and encourage them to pursue a relationship that aligns with biblical principles. We encourage you to share these verses with them:
2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
1 Corinthians 7:39 (WEB), "A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she desires, only in the Lord."
We encourage you to continue to be a light to them and to speak the truth in love. Remember, it is the Holy Spirit's job to convict and convert, it is our job to love, pray, and share the truth. We encourage you to be bold and courageous in your witness, but always remember to speak the truth in love.
In Jesus' name, we encourage you and stand with you in prayer.
