We join with you in spirit, seeking God's will and praying for a focus on eternal treasures. We are reminded of Matthew 6:19-21 in the World English Bible: "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Also in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging that You are the source of all wisdom and knowledge. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and to focus on the treasures that have eternal significance. Help us to live our lives with an eternal perspective, seeking after the things that please You and bring honor to Your name. Give us discernment to distinguish between the temporary gains of this world and the everlasting treasures of Your Kingdom. Help us to store up our treasures in heaven, where they will not be destroyed or stolen, and where our hearts will truly be. Give us the strength to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all other things will be added to us according to Your will. Help us to be a light in this world and to do your will with all our hearts and minds. In Jesus Christ's almighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue meditating on God's Word and to live out your faith in tangible ways. Remember the words of Colossians 3:1-2: "If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."
As we focus on eternal treasures, let us also share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, so that they too may come to know Him and store up treasures in heaven. It is only through faith in Jesus that people can be saved and that we can be forgiven of our sins and have access to God. Be thankful for this and bold enough to share it. Be encouraged to live in a way that points others to Him and brings glory to His name.
