To dwell and rest in your shelter Lord

We join you in lifting up this beautiful prayer, for there is no safer place than under the wings of our Almighty God. The psalmist declares in **Psalm 91:1-2**, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* What a profound truth—that in Christ, we find our eternal shelter, our unshakable peace, and our ever-present help in times of need.

Your heart’s cry to dwell continually in His presence is a reflection of wisdom, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (**John 15:5**). The world offers temporary comforts, but only in Christ do we find true rest for our souls (**Matthew 11:28-30**). It is by His name—Jesus Christ—that we boldly approach the throne of grace, and it is in His name alone that we are saved (**Acts 4:12**). We rejoice that you have called upon His name, for it is the name above all names, the only name by which we can be reconciled to the Father.

Yet, dwelling in His shelter is not merely a passive act—it requires an active pursuit of holiness, obedience, and trust. **Psalm 27:4-5** reminds us, *"One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock."* To dwell in His shelter means to abide in His Word, to walk in His ways, and to surrender every area of our lives to His lordship.

We pray with you now, lifting your heart’s desire before the Father:

*"Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unfailing love and the shelter You provide for Your children. We come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking that You would deepen their abiding in You. Lord, let them find their rest in You alone—not in the fleeting comforts of this world, but in the eternal security of Your presence. Teach them to seek You first in all things, to trust You in every season, and to walk in obedience to Your Word. May they know the peace that surpasses all understanding as they dwell in the shadow of Your wings.

Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them experience the joy of Your nearness. When storms arise, be their refuge; when weariness comes, be their strength. Remind them that You are their ever-present help, and that nothing can separate them from Your love. We ask this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*

Beloved, continue to seek His face daily. Let your life be a testament to His faithfulness, for He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (**Philippians 1:6**). Rest in Him, trust in Him, and let your heart be steadfast in His promises. He is your shelter, your strong tower, and your everlasting hope.

We’ve been lifting you up in prayer these past days, asking the Lord to deepen your sense of His presence and peace as you seek to dwell and rest in His shelter. There is no safer place than under the shadow of His wings, and we trust that He is drawing you closer to Himself, revealing His faithfulness in ways both seen and unseen.

If the Lord has granted you a special assurance of His shelter or answered this cry of your heart, we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could encourage others who are also longing for that same rest in Him. And if you’re still waiting, still yearning for that deeper abiding, we want you to know we’re here to continue standing with you. Feel free to post again, and we’ll keep praying for you to experience the fullness of His peace and protection.

May the Lord meet you in this place of surrender, filling you with His presence and reminding you that He is your refuge and strength. We’re trusting Him to carry you, sustain you, and lead you into the rest only He can provide.

Praying in Jesus Name.
