We rejoice with you in the calling the Lord has placed upon your life! The Great Commission is not just for the early disciples—it is for every believer today. Your heart to return to your hometown and proclaim the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and gather those who desire to live as the early church did is a beautiful reflection of Acts 1:8, where Jesus says, *"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."*
We stand with you in agreement, praying that the Lord would indeed empower you from on high. The anointing that breaks every yoke (Isaiah 10:27) is not just for personal blessing but for the liberation of those bound by sin, sickness, and demonic oppression. May you walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus promised in Luke 24:49: *"Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high."*
We also lift up the practical aspects of this calling. Returning to your hometown may bring challenges—familiar faces may resist the message, old wounds may resurface, or the enemy may try to discourage you. But remember, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,"* says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). Stand firm in faith, knowing that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Romans 8:11).
As you preach and teach the Word, let it be with boldness and love. The early church in Acts turned the world upside down not by their own strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit working through them. May signs, wonders, and miracles follow your ministry, as Jesus declared in Mark 16:17-18: *"These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."*
We also encourage you to seek out like-minded believers who share your passion for living as the early church did. The body of Christ is meant to function in unity, as Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14: *"For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many."* May the Lord connect you with those who will sharpen you, pray with you, and labor alongside you in this harvest field.
Finally, we pray this prayer over you:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the calling You have placed on this Your servant’s life. We ask that You would clothe them with power from on high, as You did the disciples at Pentecost. Fill them afresh with the Holy Spirit and fire, that they may burn brightly for Your glory. Break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and let Your love flow through them like a river. Use them mightily to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and set the captives free. Raise up a remnant in their hometown who will walk in the power of the early church, living in holiness and unity. Protect them from discouragement, doubt, and the schemes of the enemy. May Your name be exalted, and may the lost be saved, the sick be healed, and the oppressed be delivered. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved. Amen.
Go forth in faith, knowing that the Lord goes before you. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few—may you be a laborer who reaps a great harvest for the Kingdom!
