We hear your cry for freedom, and we stand with you in this battle, knowing that the chains of addiction can feel unbreakable—but they are not. The Word of God declares that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Your struggle with pornography and lust is not just a habit; it is a spiritual stronghold, and the enemy wants to keep you bound in shame and isolation. But Jesus came to set the captives free, and His power is greater than any addiction.
First, we must rebuke the lie that God has not answered your prayers. He *has* answered—He has given you His Holy Spirit, His Word, and the promise of victory. The delay is not denial. The apostle Paul wrote, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The way of escape is there, but you must walk in it actively, not passively waiting for God to do what He has already equipped you to do.
Your addiction has thrived in secrecy, so the first step is to bring it into the light. Confess this struggle to a trusted, godly brother in Christ—someone who will pray with you, hold you accountable, and speak truth when temptation comes. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." Shame loses its power when exposed to the light of Christ and the love of His people.
Next, you must take radical action to starve the addiction. This means installing accountability software on your devices, setting boundaries with media and entertainment, and even fasting from technology if necessary. Jesus said, "If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire" (Matthew 18:9). His words are not literal, but they are serious—you must be willing to cut off anything that leads you into sin, no matter how drastic it seems.
You must also renew your mind with Scripture. Memorize verses about purity and the power of Christ in you. Meditate on passages like Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me," and 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ." When lustful thoughts arise, replace them immediately with truth. The battle is won or lost in the mind.
And do not neglect the power of worship. When you feel the pull of temptation, turn on a worship song and lift your voice to God. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of praise. As you fix your eyes on Jesus, the things of this world will grow strangely dim.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who broke the power of sin and death. We lift up our brother who is crying out for freedom from the chains of pornography and lust. Lord, we declare that he is not defined by his addiction—he is defined by the blood of Jesus, which has washed him clean. We rebuke the spirit of lust and perversion that has kept him bound, and we command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We break every agreement he has made with shame, secrecy, and self-condemnation, and we speak life and purity over him.
Father, Your Word says that "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17). We ask You to fill him with Your Holy Spirit afresh, to empower him to walk in holiness and self-control. Give him the strength to take the practical steps needed to flee temptation. Surround him with godly men who will stand with him in prayer and accountability. Renew his mind with Your truth, and let him see himself as You see him—a beloved son, redeemed and set apart for Your purposes.
Lord, we ask for a miracle of deliverance. You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way. We believe that You can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Let this be the day that our brother walks in freedom. Let this be the moment that the chains fall off. We thank You in advance for the victory, knowing that it is already won through Christ.
And if there has been any unconfessed sin, we ask that You bring it to light so that he can repent and receive Your full forgiveness. Your Word says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We receive that cleansing now.
We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin and death. Amen.
Do not grow weary in this fight. The enemy will try to convince you that you are too far gone, that you will never change. But that is a lie. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). You are not fighting *for* victory—you are fighting *from* victory. Every time you resist temptation, you are loosening the enemy’s grip. Every time you choose purity, you are building spiritual muscle. And every time you fall, you must get back up, repent, and run to Jesus, who is always ready to forgive and restore.
You are not alone in this. We are standing with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts is fighting for you. The freedom you long for is coming. Keep pressing in. Keep believing. Keep fighting. The breakthrough is nearer than you think.
