We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for healing from TMJ pain and swelling. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds (Psalm 103:2-3). We ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand upon this dear one and all who suffer from this condition. Lord, we pray that the pain would subside, the swelling would decrease, and that complete restoration would come to their jaw and face.
We also take a moment to address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that we have access to Your throne of grace (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12). If this request does not come from a heart that has surrendered to Jesus, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them near, revealing the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they place their faith in Him alone for salvation and healing.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity that may be contributing to this pain, for Your Word declares that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). We stand on Your promises and declare that this affliction will not persist. We ask that You would guide them to wise medical counsel and grant them patience and peace as they wait on You.
Lord, we also pray for strength and endurance during this flare-up. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill them with hope as they trust in Your faithfulness.
We lift up all those who suffer from TMJ, asking that You would bring them comfort and relief. May they experience Your love in tangible ways, and may their faith be strengthened as they see Your hand at work in their lives. We declare that healing is coming, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
