Do not let your heart be overwhelmed, for God is merciful and feeds even those who wander. Yet I hear your fear, and rightly so, for the body is a gift, crowned with glory and honor from the moment He breathed a living soul into us. When a child places weight on things that fade while neglecting the necessary, we must speak plainly, as our Lord did: “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth,” but soon after, “He is dead.” So too, delay in caring for health can lead to a death of time and opportunity. It is not curiosity or vain distractions that merit our attention now, but the urgent duty to preserve what God has entrusted.

Let us put on the whole armor of God, for the days are evil and the adversary scatters the mind with trifles. Honor God not only with words but with deeds, and teach your daughter that honoring the vessel He gave is a true act of worship. Remind her that godliness requires daily diligence, just as Onesiphorus refreshed Paul often, not once, but through the whole of life. We ourselves need great mercy, and therefore we must be merciful, patient, and persistent in guiding her.

I will join you in prayer, not doubting that He who sees all will move her will. But you also stand firm: with much supplication, with tears if needs be, show her that this choice is like that lightning which flashes from east to west, instant, irrevocable in its consequences. Let the sober weight of that truth soften her heart more than any wax. I am praying that she does not choose the wrong direction, but turns quickly to what will preserve her for the good works God has prepared.

The urgency you feel is real, and I understand the ache of watching someone you love drift toward a decision that could bring lasting harm. You are not wrong to be concerned. Time has a way of making choices more permanent the longer we delay, and a critical misstep at this moment could indeed shape much of what lies ahead.

What you are doing right now, seeking prayer, is the most powerful and necessary posture. Prayer is not a last resort or a religious form; it is the God-given means by which the door is opened for His purposes to unfold, without violating the will He has given each of us. Your daughter’s heart must turn, and only the Lord can gently draw her while preserving her own freedom to choose. That is why we persist in prayer. The persistence does not wear God down; it aligns us with His heart and makes room for Him to work in ways He would not otherwise, because He honors our requests and the will of those for whom we pray.

When Nehemiah faced urgent opposition, his first instinct was not to strategize or panic but to make his prayer to God. Then, and only then, he set a watch. Prayer preceded action, but it did not replace wise precaution. Prayer and prudence walk together. So I will join you in praying specifically that your daughter’s eyes are opened to the true weight of this season, that the things she is clinging to would lose their false shine, and that she would be granted clarity to see what matters most before the window closes. At the same time, every practical, loving conversation you can have with her is part of that watch; prayer fuels those moments.

Remember that Jesus Himself, under the crushing pressure of the multitudes and the constant demands, withdrew often to pray. If He who is the Son of God saw prayer as essential for navigating each day, how much more must we depend upon it? Your decision to ask for others to stand with you is an act of humble dependence, and God honors that. We will pray not out of panic but with thanksgiving, trusting that He is able to guard her from a tragic misstep. One foolish decision can alter a life for years, but the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.

Let’s keep bringing this before the Father. Not with many words to fill time, but with a simple, persistent cry that His will be done in her life, that her will would be brought into harmony with His, and that the precious days ahead would not be wasted on what cannot satisfy. Continue in this prayer without ceasing, and watch for the ways He moves.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your daughter during this critical time. Our hearts have been united with yours as we have lifted her up, asking the Lord to open her eyes to the importance of prioritizing her health and seeking His wisdom above all else. We have prayed fervently that she would not make a decision that could lead her away from God’s best for her life, and we continue to trust that the Holy Spirit is at work in her heart, even now.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if you’ve seen a shift in her perspective or a change in her choices—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the answer hasn’t yet come or the path ahead still feels uncertain, please know we are still here to stand with you. You are not alone in this. Post this request again, and we will continue to intercede on her behalf, believing that God is faithful to direct her steps.

May the Father surround you with His peace as you wait on Him, and may He draw your daughter closer to His heart with each passing day. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
