1 John 1:8-10 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9IF we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and his word is not in us.
This does not mean that we escape punishment for our sins; it means that we will not perish, in unforgiveness, because of unrepentance. How is it possible to repent for things that we refuse to even (acknowledge) confess? And, according to this scripture we cannot be forgiven unless we confess (IF WE CONFESS), it’s a choice.
GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I
To the men involved in the sexual misconduct scandal, you who have chosen to acknowledge your guilt: Thank God that your sin has been exposed, and you have been given an opportunity to atone. God is favoring you, in that, through chastening, He has brought you to a place of repentance. God could have allowed you to perish in the filth that you committed in secret, But, because He created you for Himself, He has chosen to give you the opportunity to be a public witness to His grace and mercy. GOD LOVES YOU, He just doesn’t love the sin that you committed. But God gives to all the “GRACE OF REPENTANCE.”
James 5:16 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Do not be deceived in convincing yourselves, or in allowing others to convince you that this moment is a witch-hunt: women vs. men or democrat vs. republican (For real?! That’s really weak, and reaching). The devil is a liar! But God is faithful to His Word, ALL OF IT! For it is written: The measure by which you measure, it will be measured back to you. God is allowing you to experience the stigma of being “labeled,” and the anxiety of a career in jeopardy, that you imposed (measured) on your victims. Therefore, do not despise God’s chastening; for we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory. This moment is about good vs. evil. To be certain, inasmuch as it is for your redemption, it’s also God’s vindication on behalf of those whom you wronged. Therefore, do not condemn them for speaking out, for in so doing, you obstruct God’s justice.
Isaiah 59:14-18 For truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore, his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. 18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
Just as it is your choice to repent, it is the women’s choice to forgive. Understand, repentance does not give you the right to dictate when nor how forgiveness should occur. I believe, in my heart, that these women have already forgiven you. But, forgiveness does not mean that your actions were acceptable nor does it mean that you have the right to control the timing or specifics of your victim’s recovery; they are no obligation to like nor interact with you, unless they so choose. You made yourself a part of their narrative, you do not get to rewrite their narrative to accommodate some narcissistic type of hero syndrome. Knowing that Jesus endured punishment for that which he was innocent, why shouldn’t we be willing to endure punishment for that which we are guilty. Submit to the Righteous process of repentance and redemption. Man’s justice in nothing compared to the fury of God’s vengeance:
BUT GOD, by the renewing of our mind through repentance and taking to heart His ordinances, releases to us, a new covenant: Hebrews 8:10-12 10 I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
The devil certainly doesn't want you to have that covenant because the last thing he wants is for you to be reconciled to God
Commentary: Men are just as attractive and desirable to women as women are to them; but, women do not want to be abused, misused or disrespected any more than you do. Sex must be consensual. I think we can all agree that this does not apply to children, for children do not have the capacity of maturity to consent to that which they do not fully understand. For such atrocities, there is, indeed, a special place in hell.
