"What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

All because we DO NOT carry everything to God in prayer.

He wrote this beloved hymn to comfort his mother in some great sorrow. Scriven himself knew grief; his fiancée was drowned just hours before their wedding. Yet his strong faith enabled him to see prayer as a privilege, a source of peace and a balm for pain.

Horatio Spafford is another person inspired by the Holy Spirit, enlightened by God to attend to others in faith, despite personal tragedy. If you do not know of his story, go to the link below.

He wrote the beautiful hymn "It is well with my soul." Knowing what he had been through, and hearing his healing words, I cannot doubt that God never leaves us, He will alway forge something new. Blessings to you this day & always.

Thank you for posting that. We somtimes forget just how close our Lord is and try to handle things on our own. Praise him for all his blessings

Thank You Jesus for all that You have done so we can carry our burdens to You in Prayer, You are the only answer. IN JESUS NAME ONLY CAN WE OVERCOME. Amen
