They really need you

We join with you in lifting them up before the throne of grace, for we hear the burden of your heart for their deliverance and peace.

We are encouraged by your faith to call upon the name of Lord Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father and it is in His name that deliverance and salvation are found. We stand with you asking God to guard them from the evil one and to set them free from all that holds them captive.

Scripture reminds us that the Lord is faithful to guard us, as it is written, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 And we know that stubbornness of heart is something only God can soften, for He has promised, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 We pray that He would remove any hardness or resistance and replace it with a willing and obedient heart that desires to follow Him.

We also lift up their anxieties to Him, for He cares deeply for them. We are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 And again, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of these dear ones who are in need of Your mercy. Lord, we ask You to deliver them from all evil, from the schemes of the enemy, and from every chain of sin and darkness. Break the power of stubbornness in their hearts, soften what is hardened, and draw them to repentance and submission to Your will. Lord, we ask You to lift every anxiety, fear and heavy burden from them and replace it with Your perfect peace that passes all understanding. Teach them to cast every care upon You and to rest in Your faithful love. Establish them, guard them, and let them know the comfort of Your presence. We ask that You would work in their lives for Your glory and for their good, that they may walk in freedom and in truth. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We hear how much you love them and how heavy it is to carry them to Jesus like this. Watching someone you care about wrestle with anxiety and a hard heart can leave you feeling helpless, and it is good you brought them straight to the Lord.

We are joining you in asking for His protection and peace over them, and for wisdom for you as you love them well. Stubbornness often comes from fear or hurt underneath, so continuing to meet them with patience and steady prayer matters more than we sometimes realize.

One simple way to keep going is to keep praying very specifically for them by name each day this week, and if you have opportunity, gently ask them what one burden feels heaviest right now so you can pray into that with them. If their anxiety is making daily life hard to manage, it can also be a kindness to encourage them to talk with a pastor or counselor alongside prayer.

Father we lift this loved one to You now. You see them and love them more than we do. Please guard them from evil, quiet their anxious thoughts with Your peace, soften what is hard, and draw them closer to You. Give our friend strength and hope as they keep interceding. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and needful prayer you have brought before the Lord, and it is right to plead with the Lord Jesus for deliverance.

There is a word from the excellent glory concerning those who seem ready to go down to the Pit, He is gracious unto him and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. No one would have thought of such a way of deliverance if God had not thought of it Himself, and He has not only invented the way but has found the ransom in His own dear Son. All deliverance from evil, whether from sin without or stubbornness within, is His work alone. Deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. He can snap the bands of evil habit and set the captive free.

You ask for deliverance from stubbornness. That hardness of heart is a chain which no man can break by his own willing or running, but only by God who shows mercy. Pray that He will do a supernatural work within them, for there is no true liberty but that of which Christ makes us free. He can teach the soul the mischief of loving its own way and bring it to yield to His gracious rule.

You ask also for deliverance from anxieties. The very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. Yet our afflictions do not spring out of the dust, neither do they come apart from Divine permission. All our ills lie within the fence of omnipotent overruling, and what we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. He sits as a Refiner by the furnace He Himself has kindled, and He will not suffer His own to be tried beyond what is profitable.

Let us pray together. Lord Jesus, Thou hast found a ransom, look in grace upon those for whom this prayer is offered. Deliver them from going down to the Pit, deliver them from evil and from the power of darkness, break their stubbornness and give them a tender and obedient heart. Take their anxieties and teach them to cast all their care upon Thee, for Thou carest for them. Save them from themselves and from all the attacks of sin and Satan, and keep back their souls from perishing. Do this for Thy great mercy's sake, that they may live and declare the works of the Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing these loved ones before the Lord Jesus.

We ask Him who alone can deliver from evil and supply every good gift to keep them from every evil work and to draw them to Himself. He is able to deliver not only from outward danger but from sin itself, and to preserve those who trust in Him unto His heavenly kingdom.

We pray also that He will soften all stubbornness of heart. When His Word takes hold of the soul it brings compunction and frees us from bitter slavery, turning a hard heart toward repentance and obedience. May He grant them a willing heart to hear His voice and to trust not in themselves but wholly in God.

And for all anxieties that press upon them, we ask for His peace. Anxiety scourges the soul with fear and trembling, but the Lord calls us to cast our care upon Him and to take no anxious thought for tomorrow. May He free them from this burden and establish them in security and liberty in Christ, knowing that He cares for them and will keep them.

We commit them to the tender care of Christ, who looked upon Peter even when bound and restored him with mercy, and who is able to do the same for all who turn to Him. May He deliver them, cleanse them, and lead them in His ways.

In the name of Jesus our only Savior we pray, Amen.

Your prayer for deliverance reflects the very heart of God, who hates evil because evil destroys. Scripture is clear that evil is not to be tolerated or compromised with, but to be hated, avoided and turned from. To fear the Lord is to hate evil and to depart from it, to not go in its way, to pass not by it, to turn from it and remove your foot from it. Evil always seeks to be tolerated, but its nature is to bring destruction to the body, the mind, relationships and the sense of what is right. In the end evil slays the wicked.

God hears your cry for those you love who are caught in stubbornness and anxiety. Stubbornness is a hardness of heart that keeps a person on the path of darkness, leaving the paths of uprightness. Yet God in His patience gives warning after warning and opportunity after opportunity to turn, because His desire is to forgive iniquity and sin when a person will return from his evil way. He does not swiftly execute judgment for every evil work, not because He condones it or does not see it, but because He wants hearts to turn to Him in love rather than merely in fear. He calls every person to turn from the sin that is destroying them and destroying others.

Anxiety too is part of that burden. When we depart from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it, and keep our tongue from deceit, God promises to redeem and to give health and peace. He redeems the soul of those who trust in Him and they will not be left desolate.

We join you in prayer for them.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to deliver them from all evil and from the power of the evil one. Open their eyes to see that evil is destructive and not to be tolerated. Soften their stubborn hearts and grant them repentance, that they may turn from their evil ways and receive Your forgiveness. Lift their anxieties and teach them to fear You, to depart from evil and to walk in Your ways. Draw them to Yourself, keep them from the way of perverseness and darkness, and establish their feet on a straight path. We ask this in Your name, trusting that You are able to deliver and to redeem. Amen.
