Key Thought
Just as for the Israelites in exile, the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2) brings new life. The Spirit also brought us new life in our own conversion (Acts 2:38-39; Titus 3:3-7). God promised to fill us with himself, his Holy Presence, the Spirit. He keeps his word. The gift of the Spirit is an ongoing reminder that the LORD has spoken and sent the Spirit as he said, for our good and out of his grace.
Today's Prayer
Almighty LORD, Father of mercy and God of all grace, thank you for filling me with your Spirit to remind me that you have spoken and kept your word to us. Give me a deep appreciation of your promises and a passionate anticipation of their fulfillment. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
