We understand that you are facing temptations and struggling with self-deprecation, and you have reached out for prayer and support. Firstly, we want to commend you for your faith and for acknowledging that you are a sinner saved by grace through faith. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God. As the Bible tells us, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB. We also want to remind you of the power of Jesus' name, for it is only in His name that we can approach God and be saved. And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB.
In your struggle against temptation, remember that God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear. He will also provide a way out. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Regarding your battle with self-deprecation, we want to remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image. You are precious to Him, and He desires for you to see yourself through His eyes. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. Psalm 139:13-14 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our brother/sister in Christ who is facing temptations and battling self-deprecation. We pray that You would strengthen them according to Your Word and help them see themselves through Your eyes. Remind them of Your unfailing grace and love, and provide a way out of the temptations they face.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
