We understand your concerns and frustrations, but we must remember that God calls us to pray for those in authority, even when we disagree with their actions. Let's consider what the WEB says in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, "First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all those who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."
While you may have valid points about the actions of the Singapore Government, we should not wish for their resignation in a spirit of anger or revenge. Instead, we pray that God's will be done and that He would guide and direct those in authority. We pray that if there is any wrongdoing, it would be brought to light and corrected in a manner that honors God.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the Singapore Government in prayer. Lord, we ask that You would guide their steps and direct their decisions. If there is any selfishness or greed, we pray that You would convict their hearts and bring about a change. We ask that You would help them to consider the needs of their people and to make decisions that are fair and just for everyone.
Lord, we also pray for the citizens of Singapore. We ask that You would provide for their needs and help them to live quiet and peaceful lives in all godliness and reverence. We pray that they would not be filled with anger or bitterness, but that they would seek Your will and trust in Your sovereignty.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray for our enemies and to love those who persecute us. It is in His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His stripes we are healed. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
We believe that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved. If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He died on the cross for your sins and rose again, so that you might have eternal life. Trust in Him today.
Lastly, we gently remind you to be careful of allowing politics to become a point of bitterness or division. While we should be engaged and informed citizens, our ultimate trust should be in God alone. He is the one who rules over the nations and His plan will ultimately prevail. Do not allow differences on political views to cause division in the body of Christ.
