The Relationship Between Trust And Obedience.

With greater trust comes greater obedience, that much is well known, but with more difficulty to we accept that with greater obedience comes greater trust. Why? Because the former places responsibility on the object of the trust, but the later places responsibility on us. Not to be redundant, but we know that if they build off each other than they are related in such a way that makes them examples of circular reasoning. In other words, they are on opposite sides of an equation; as with in algebra, if one builds on one side, then the other side is built also. But where do trust and obedience come from? They come from God's drawing us to Him and our response to that drawing. John 12:32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." We also know James 4:8 says "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." Therefore we must take great importance in tearing every lofty philosophy that is against what our faith in our Abba God tells us. I like the New Living Translation for this one: 2 Corinthians 10:5 "We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ." This truth stares us in the face with its starkly blatant appeal when we connect it with this verse of truth from the Good Book: Matthew 6:33 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and God will give you everything you need." If you don't know the context for this verse, go read all of chapter 6 in Matthew. It's about trusting God, so if you can trust this verse and invest your zeal into it, then you can have the trust you need to have substantial obedience.
EVERY lofty idea, that has no significance in the eternal and must be superseded by humble ideas from the Living Word. That implies that if you have questions you should have them answered. I agree with the answers at www.gotquestions.org obviously I havn't read every answer, but it helps with study because they provide verses. Anyway, I challenge you to take this opportunity with the inner parts of your spirit to accept the challenge to hammer out any discrepancy you have with/against God. All of them. Make it a continual occurance. To challenge yourself with God's word. Reading blogs littered with Scripture is a sure sign you already have some of this type of attitude. :) Good job. This blog was short, just so you could spend the next few minutes adoring Father God. Now go soak in God.
