The prayer of a wayward sheep.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I thank you for all the blessings you have given me as you've walked with me throughout my life. You have been so patient with me as I go into the world each day like the foolish sheep that I am. Always deciding what I will do and how I will do it. Always expecting that I will walk in your grace. Always knowing that you will rescue me if I get too far out in the lead.

Lord, please help me to stop leading. Teach me to follow you. I am such a foolish wandering sheep who has no idea where we’re going. Yet I’m always in a hurry to get there and you are always there to pull me back before I fall off the cliff.

Lord, please help me to stop leading. Allow me to serve in this world as you would have me serve. Allow me to walk quietly behind you as you take me through these troubling times. Take control of Lord as I am just a foolish sheep frolicking in the wilderness with no idea of the dangers or the blessings that lie ahead. Lord please be my shepherd.
