The Power of the Tongue.

The tongue is a mighty weapon, one that can be used against others, as well as ourselves. A weapon that can determine the win or loss of the battle.

I am just going to be honest here, for those who are struggling, been in lengthy restoration battles and have not seen much progress, and are of the opinion that the word does not always work, and of the opinion that words cannot curse or bless you. This very well could be why you are in a lengthy battle without much progress,....because you believe what you do. I can testify to the truth of power of the tongue and mind in the battle, in pretty much any spiritual battle and life period, both negative and positive.

First lets go to the scriptures on it.

Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Pro 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Jam 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! Jam 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Jam 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Pro 12:14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Pro 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Pro 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Pro 18:4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Pro 18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Ecc 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

As for the word of God when spoken, we know it does not return void because His word says so:

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Isa 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Some are skeptical of rhema word from God (word spoken to a person through the Holy Spirit, such as in teachings and prophecy). The Holy Spirit guides most of my teachings, and has taught me about these very topics I am discussing as well as experience them. And they do compare up spiritually as stated below.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

I do not base what I teach here on another mans word, I teach what God, through the Holy Spirit, tells me to teach, has shown me, let me experience, spoken to me about, and backed up with scripture as well. It is what He is giving for this ministry and those in this battle He guides here. There will always be someone who disagrees with someone in the position of teaching Gods word, both scripturally and Rhema. And their disagreement typically will stem from their own experiences and level of understanding due to such. But that is why I am here, why God placed me here to teach what He has me teach, because I have walked it, been there and done it, seen it, experienced it, know it. I have watched His word manifest in my marriage and spouse. I have watched my inadequacies in my stand bring the downfalls also, negative words, thoughts, complaining, whining. It is like I told someone the other day, I have been in the place where I was waking up complaintive and going to sleep that way, with God. Saying I cannot do this, cannot handle this, cannot take anymore...and every time I was in that place, my husband went back out on me. Of course he did, I just got what I asked for. If I keep telling God that, then God will take him out so I can handle it, so I am not in that place anymore.

Your heart, your mind, your spirit and your tongue will guide your restoration stand, trust me! Anger, resentment, pride, contentiousness, bitterness, unforgiveness, negative attitude, wrong thoughts, negative words, lack of faith, complaining and whining...they do affect your stand! And just like the Israelites, you can keep going around this mountain again and again until you figure it out. Until you can, for the most part, overcome all these things; God is not finished with you. We are human and we all fall to them even when He is finished, but until we learn to take control of them instead of them taking control of us, we will continue going around the mountain and not being able to enter into the promise land. God needs us to grow up and be strong warriors for the kingdom, that is what He is doing in this. Its not easy, but if you are open to the changes, willing to have your flaws exposed and dealt with, it is much easier. Some just fight it tooth and nail though, and they struggle. So when you keep finding yourself going around the same old mountain over and over and never progressing, it is time to look within yourself and your circumstance. God does not fail us. He did not fail the Israelites, it was them who caused their problems, not God. They were stubborn and insistent on their own way, never understanding, which delayed their trip and caused much suffering, by their own hands. It still holds true today, we are the reason we stay lost in the wilderness, not God.

Okay, off my soapbox. :-) Love you all!
