How to Pass the Period of Testing
As followers of Christ, there will be times of "heaven on earth" where everything is going smoothly. But then will come the period where everything is not as smooth.
How do we pass this period of testing? I believe the main key is two simple words " be humble." To be humble means to remove all pride, ego, and selfish desires.
It means to put others first, to ask with right motives, and especially to wait patiently, for god to move on our behalf. I would like to give part of my testimony. I am a 38 year-old college student. I have not been able to graduate from college, ever since I started going to college in 1997. The Lord, has been dealing with me to "be humble." I never forget something I said when I first began college. I regret it now with every fiber of my being. What I said, is this:" I have to graduate by the year 2000." Of course, it was not a bad thing to say, but I said it with pride. I said it with selfishness. Jesus, does not like pride. He likes and rewards humbleness. I hope my story, will help you examine yourself, and ask yourself, before you pray to God: Is this prayer being asked humbly? Am I looking for my own needs and desires only? Am I looking out for my own interests? If your answer to these questions is yes. I can assure you, it could be the reason your prayers, are not being answered.
