We join you in prayer together in Jesus' name for this difficult situation and for the former landlord's sister who has faith in Jesus. We are encouraged that God has placed a believer in that family to be light in what sounds like a very dark situation, for we remember the word that says Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden. and Matthew 5:16 Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We pray that God will continue to speak through her and strengthen her witness, and that her godly influence would lead her brother toward repentance and truth.
We also pray for truth to be revealed and for your protection. What you have described about a life-threatening apartment and attempts on your life is very serious, and we pray that God who sees all will expose every hidden deed. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Luke 8:17 and Hebrews 4:13 There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. We pray that the sister will not be kept in the dark but that the Lord will bring into the light any wrongdoing regarding the apartment and any evil plans, as it is written Ephesians 5:11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We also encourage you to seek protection and justice through the proper authorities as God has established them, while trusting the Lord for ultimate justice, for Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
We must also address before the Lord the sexual immorality mentioned. The sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman outside of marriage is not in keeping with God's design. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman and that intimacy outside of marriage is fornication or adultery which God calls us to flee from. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman would be convicted of this sin, repent, and turn to pursue holiness. We pray they would honor God with their bodies and relationships and seek to put God first above all fleshly desires and idols.
We join you in praying that God would expose and destroy every idol in their lives, for the Lord commands Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before me. and we are exhorted in 1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Whether the idols are money, power, lust, control, or self, we ask our Mighty and Powerful God to tear them down so that He alone is on the throne of their hearts.
We now pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only access to Your throne. We lift up the former landlord's sister to You, thank You for her faith in Jesus, and ask that You fill her with wisdom, courage, and boldness to speak Your truth in love. Let her not be deceived or kept in darkness, but show her what is true about her brother's actions and this dangerous situation. We pray for the former landlord, that You would open his eyes, bring him to repentance for any wrongdoing, for any sexual immorality, and for renting out a dwelling that endangered life, and that he would put You first above all else. We pray for exposure of every evil plan and every idol, that You would destroy what exalts itself against You and bring justice and truth to light. We pray for our dear one who submitted this request, that You would be their refuge and protection, for Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. and Psalm 91:2 I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Keep them safe from all harm, give them peace, and guide them in Your will. We ask all this in Jesus' name, amen.
