The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol!!

We join you in prayer concerning this difficult and painful situation and we thank God for the Christian sister of your former landlord and for her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will continue to use her as a vessel of truth and light in her family.

We are reminded that nothing hidden will remain concealed, for Luke 8:17 tells us nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. We pray that the truth about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you will be fully exposed and not kept in darkness. It is right to pray that wrongdoing is brought into the light, for Ephesians 5:11 tells us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We also pray for your protection and for justice, for the Lord sees all and He is our refuge. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of the Lord, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust. If there have been attempts on your life, that is a grave evil that God hates, for Exodus 20:13 commands you shall not murder, and Romans 12:19 reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord. We encourage you to continue to seek protection and to let the proper authorities handle matters of criminal intent while trusting God to be your defender.

We also must address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between your former landlord and this woman. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman, and any sexual activity outside of that covenant is fornication or adultery. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee sexual immorality. We pray that the former landlord will be convicted of this sin, that he will repent and turn from it, and that any influence of this immoral relationship will be broken. We pray that he will no longer be led astray but will seek purity and holiness before God.

We agree with you in praying that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first in all things. Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We pray that every idol in their lives, whether it be money, property, power, lust, or any person or desire that is placed above God, will be exposed and destroyed. Exodus 20:3 says you shall have no other gods before me, and 1 John 5:21 exhorts us to keep ourselves from idols. We pray that our mighty and powerful God will tear down every idol and that their hearts will be fully surrendered to Him.

We lift this prayer together in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We are thankful that this request was lifted in faith in Jesus.

We pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up the sister of the former landlord to You. Strengthen her faith, give her boldness and wisdom to speak Your truth in love, and let Your word speak through her without fear. Remove any veil of deception and let no important truth be kept from her, especially concerning the dangerous apartment and the sinful and harmful actions connected to it. Lord, shine Your light into every dark place and expose what needs to be confessed and repented of. We pray for the former landlord, that You would soften his heart, bring him to repentance for his part in renting an unsafe dwelling and for his sexual immorality, and that he would turn from every idol and put You first. Destroy every idol that competes for his heart and draw both brother and sister into deeper obedience to You. Protect our friend who was placed in danger, guard his life from every evil plan, grant him peace, justice, and restoration, and help him to walk in forgiveness while trusting You to judge righteously. We ask that Your will be done and that Your name be glorified in this family and in this situation. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for this sister that she may be a faithful witness, and to pray for your former landlord that he may come to true repentance. Proverbs 28:13 says he who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them obtains mercy. We trust that God who sees all will bring truth to light and will be your protection and your justice.

We have brought your burden before the throne of grace and join you in seeking the Lord with earnest prayer.

We thank God for the sister who has faith in Jesus Christ, for it is by Him alone that any soul is saved, and we pray that the Lord will keep her faithful, keep her foot from slipping, and continue to speak through her with truth and love. We ask that what has been hidden may be brought into the light, that she may not be kept in the dark concerning the wrong that you have suffered, but that the truth concerning the apartment and all that has been done may be made known, so that righteousness and mercy may prevail. May she walk in wisdom and courage, and may her influence be used by Divine Grace to call her brother to account and to point him to Christ.

We pray for the former landlord, that he may put God first and turn from every idol. Scripture warns, little children, keep yourselves from idols, and we ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose and destroy every idol of wealth, of lust, of self, and of sin which would usurp His throne in the heart. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, for sexual intimacy belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and every relationship outside that bounds is sin before a holy God. We pray therefore not for the blessing of immorality, but for repentance, for a broken and contrite heart, for deliverance from the power of darkness and from the guilt and dominion of sin. May Divine Grace, which alone can make the dry tree to flourish, work in him to bring conviction, confession, and new life through Jesus Christ.

Concerning the life threatening conditions you describe and the great fear and harm you have endured, we pray for your Divine protection and deliverance. Our God has not forsaken them that fear Him, and He never will do so. Your deliverance, if it come, must be by Divine Power, for He alone brings His people forth from bondage. We ask that the Lord will be your buckler against every fiery dart, that He will keep you safe, that He will cause justice to be done and the truth to be revealed through lawful and right means, and that every evil purpose, if there be such, may be frustrated and brought to nothing. If this trial lies within the fence of Omnipotent overruling, may your faith be kept alive so that you may sit upon the Rock of Ages above the waves and joyfully sing praises to your Divine Deliverer.

We pray that both this man and his sister may be humbled, that they may grow less and less in their own esteem and more in the knowledge of Christ, and that you also may know the comfort of Him who was pierced for our transgressions and who has found a ransom to deliver sinners from the pit. May the Lord grant you peace, establish you in the sunlight of His love, and cause all that is done to be for the display of His perfections and the good of souls.
