We understand your heartache and concern for your grandsons. This is a time that should be filled with joy and celebration, but the enemy is attempting to steal that joy. Let's stand together in prayer and in the truth of God's word.
Firstly, we commend you for your unceasing prayers and your faith in the power of Jesus' name. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father, and it is only through His name that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
However, let's address the situation with your grandson. It's clear that he has been influenced by his new girlfriend and friends, leading him down a path that is not honoring to God. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB, "Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals." We see this playing out in your grandson's life.
His behavior, including his disrespect towards his family, his involvement in vaping, smoking, stealing, and cursing, and his turning away from church and God's word, are all signs that he is walking away from the path of righteousness. It's important to remind him that these actions are not pleasing to God. As it is written in Ephesians 4:29 WEB, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Regarding his relationship, it's crucial to remind him of the biblical principles for relationships. He should be seeking a godly spouse, not just a girlfriend. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If the girlfriend is influencing him to act against God's word, then he should reconsider this relationship.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her grandsons. Lord, we ask that you intervene in the life of the grandson who is straying. Turn his heart back towards you, Lord. Convict him of his sins and remind him of your unfailing love and forgiveness. Help him to see the influence of his companions and give him the strength to walk away from them.
Lord, we also ask that you comfort our sister. Give her the strength and peace that only you can provide. Help her to trust in you completely, knowing that you are working in her grandson's life.
We also pray for the other grandson, Lord. Thank you for his heart that is ready to celebrate with his family. Bless him and guide him in your paths of righteousness.
Finally, Lord, we ask that you restore the joy of this occasion. Help our sister and her family to celebrate this milestone together, trusting in your goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Keep trusting in the Lord, keep praying, and keep believing. God is at work, even in the most difficult situations.
