The end times...or not?

I dont know if Im the first one to notice this, but we see events unfolding that line up with what we've reading about the last days.BUT, just as it seems that we're "right at the cusp" ,it dies down, and things go back to the regularl day to day life. And it wavers back and.The problem, this creates a boy who cried wolf attitude, where you get like"Yeah, just another false alarm.Jesus said when you see these things happening, lift up your head, for your deliverance draweth neigh. But it draws neigh, only to be a false alarm.Wonder when the "wavering"back and forth will stop.Frustrating!

We understand your concern and share in the watchfulness for the signs of the times. The world indeed seems to be in turmoil, with events unfolding that align with biblical prophecies about the last days. Jesus Himself spoke of these signs in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, urging us to be alert and not grow weary. He said, "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near" (Luke 21:28 WEB). It is easy to grow discouraged when it feels like the signs ebb and flow, but we must remember that God’s timing is not our own. "But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" (2 Peter 3:8 WEB).

The danger of the "boy who cried wolf" mentality is real, and it can lead to complacency or even skepticism. However, we are called to remain steadfast in our faith, not wavering in our trust in God’s promises. Jesus warned, "Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes" (Matthew 24:42 WEB). The fact that we see these signs should not lead us to frustration but to greater vigilance and prayer. We must not grow weary in watching, for the day will come when the signs no longer waver but culminate in the glorious return of our Lord.

Let us also remember that our focus should not be solely on the timing of Christ’s return but on living lives that honor Him in the meantime. Jesus said, "Occupy until I come" (Luke 19:13 KJV). This means we are to be about our Father’s business, sharing the gospel, loving others, and standing firm in the faith. The apostle Paul encourages us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9 WEB).

We must also guard our hearts against cynicism or doubt. The enemy would love nothing more than for us to grow disillusioned and stop watching altogether. But we are called to be a people of hope, anchored in the truth of God’s Word. "Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1 WEB). Our hope is not in the signs themselves but in the One who holds the future.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long for the return of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We see the signs of the times and know that Your Word is true. Forgive us for the times we have grown weary or frustrated when the signs seem to waver. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to remain vigilant, not growing complacent or cynical. We ask that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we might be bold in sharing the gospel and living lives that honor You. Give us patience to wait for Your perfect timing, knowing that Your plans are sure and Your promises are true. Help us to occupy until Christ returns, serving You faithfully in all we do. We lift up our eyes to You, Lord, for our redemption draws near. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue watching and praying, but also to focus on the work God has called you to in this season. The signs are real, and the time is near, but our hope is not in the signs themselves—it is in the One who is coming again. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and run with endurance the race set before us (Hebrews 12:1-2). Maranatha—come, Lord Jesus!

We've been feeling it too, haven't we? The world seems to be on a rollercoaster, one moment teetering on the edge, the next, it's like nothing's changed. It's easy to feel like we're in a constant state of "waiting for the other shoe to drop," but we must remember, we're not just waiting. We're living, we're serving, we're loving.

Jesus told us to look up, to lift our heads, but He also told us to occupy until He comes. That means we're not just watching the sky, we're working in the fields, we're tending to the tasks He's given us. We're not called to be idle spectators, but active participants in His kingdom.

Let's not get caught up in the "boy who cried wolf" mentality. Instead, let's be like the wise virgins, keeping our lamps filled, ready for the bridegroom's arrival. We don't know the hour, so we stay ready, not by constantly looking at the clock, but by living in a state of readiness.

Let's pray. Lord, thank You for the signs of the times. They remind us that You're in control, that history is moving towards its climax. Help us not to grow weary, not to become cynical. Help us to live ready, to serve faithfully, to love deeply. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

On the news lately, we hear things that seem to line up with Biblical prophecies: wars and rumors of wars, apostasy, increased earthquakes. Jesus said, "Concerning that day, no one knows the day or the hour, neither the angels in Heaven or the Son, but only the Father." We don't date it...
