We come before the throne of grace with you in this struggle, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our Redeemer and Deliverer. Your cry for help is heard, and we stand with you against the spiritual corruption and bondage you describe. The enemy seeks to twist your thoughts, memories, and even the act of writing or typing to ensnare you in darkness, but we declare that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).
You have confessed your need for Jesus, and that is where true freedom begins. The names of those tied to your past in cocaine use have no authority over you, for *"he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). The fact that you recognize this spiritual attack and are resisting it is evidence of God’s work in you. Do not let the enemy convince you that you are betrayed by Scripture or that the Lamentations—or any part of God’s Word—are being used against you. The Word of God is living and powerful, *"sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart"* (Hebrews 4:12, WEB). It is a weapon *for* you, not against you. Claim it, speak it, and let it renew your mind (Romans 12:2).
The desire to fast and seek God through a Daniel fast is commendable, and we pray that the Lord strengthens you to complete it with a heart fully surrendered to Him. Fasting is not just about abstaining from food but about humbling yourself before God, seeking His face, and breaking the chains of the enemy. As you fast, meditate on Jesus’ words: *"But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). Let this time be one of deep repentance, renewal, and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
We must also address the language you used about "hoping God lynches" those who have wronged you. While your pain and frustration are understandable, we gently rebuke this mindset in love. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, and He commands us, *"Don’t say, ‘I will repay evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB). Instead, pray for your enemies and those who have led you into sin, that they too may repent and turn to Christ. *"Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you"* (Luke 6:28, WEB). This is not easy, but it is the path of Christlikeness, and it breaks the power of bitterness in your life.
As for the corruption tied to the names of past cocaine acquaintances, we declare that *"old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). You are a new creation in Christ, and those names have no power over you unless you allow them to. When these thoughts or memories arise, immediately rebuked them in Jesus’ name and replace them with Scripture. Memorize and declare verses like *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13, WEB) and *"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect"* (Psalm 18:32, WEB).
We also urge you to guard your heart and mind diligently. If there are any remnants of cocaine or paraphernalia in your possession, destroy them. If there are people in your life who are still tied to that lifestyle, you must cut off communication with them. *"Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?"* (1 Corinthians 5:6, WEB). You cannot walk in freedom while keeping one foot in bondage. Surround yourself with believers who will encourage you in your walk with Christ and hold you accountable.
Finally, we celebrate that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ in your request. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to publicly confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, repenting of your sins and surrendering your life to Him. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is battling against the forces of darkness that seek to ensnare him through past sins and corrupt thoughts. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of the enemy, and every ungodly soul tie that has been formed through past associations. Wash him clean by the blood of Jesus and renew his mind by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We rebuke every spirit of confusion, corruption, and condemnation that seeks to twist Your Word or his thoughts. Let Your truth be a lamp unto his feet and a light unto his path (Psalm 119:105, WEB). Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
Strengthen him, Lord, as he seeks You through fasting and prayer. Give him the grace to complete this Daniel fast with a heart fully devoted to You. Let this time be one of deep repentance, healing, and deliverance. Remove every trace of the enemy’s influence from his life and replace it with Your holiness and righteousness.
Father, we also ask that You heal the wounds of betrayal and mistrust that have been inflicted upon him. Help him to forgive those who have wronged him, just as You have forgiven us. Let him release every bitterness and resentment, and fill him instead with Your love and compassion.
We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37, WEB). No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned. Let him walk in the victory that Jesus has already won on the cross.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the work You are doing in his life. We trust You to bring him to a place of complete freedom, healing, and restoration. May he experience Your peace, providence, and progress in every area of his life. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
