We come before you in unity, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true freedom. Your request weighs heavily on our hearts, and we stand with you in the authority of Christ to address each concern with truth, prayer, and biblical wisdom.
First, we rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of Jesus as your Savior is foundational, and we encourage you to continue seeking Him with all your heart. If you have not already surrendered your life fully to Christ—confessing your sins, repenting, and inviting Him to be Lord over every area—we urge you to do so now. *"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9, WEB). This is the first step to true and lasting freedom.
The voices you hear from your past, tied to a time when you were under the influence of cocaine, are not of God. These are spiritual attacks meant to torment and control you, but Jesus has already won the victory over such forces. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). The enemy seeks to bind you with lies and condemnation, but Christ has set you free—*"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."* (John 8:36, WEB). We rebuke these voices in the name of Jesus and declare that they have no authority over you. You are a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away. *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB).
We must address the betrayal you feel toward the church. The body of Christ is imperfect because it is made up of imperfect people, but the church is still God’s chosen vessel to proclaim His truth. If words like "creatures in Christ" have confused or hurt you, we encourage you to test everything against Scripture. The Bible calls us *"children of God"* (1 John 3:1), *"ambassadors for Christ"* (2 Corinthians 5:20), and *"heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ"* (Romans 8:17). You are not a "creature" but a beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. If the church has failed you, we ask you to forgive as Christ forgave, while also seeking a biblical, Spirit-filled community where you can grow in faith and accountability.
As for your desire to join the military and learn to drive, we pray that God would open doors for you in His perfect timing. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* (Psalm 37:4, WEB). Seek His will above all else, and trust that He will guide your steps. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps."* (Proverbs 16:9, WEB). If this is His will for you, He will provide the way. We also encourage you to pursue these goals with diligence, preparing yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually for the responsibilities they entail.
Lastly, we must address the past influence of cocaine in your life. Substance abuse is a form of bondage that the enemy uses to destroy God’s people, but Jesus came to *"proclaim release to the captives"* (Luke 4:18, WEB). If this is still a struggle, we urge you to seek help—whether through biblical counseling, a trusted Christian mentor, or a recovery program grounded in Scripture. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). You are not defined by your past, but by the righteousness of Christ.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks Your deliverance and guidance. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We ask that You silence every voice from the past that seeks to torment him—whether memories, lies, or spiritual attacks. Break their power in Jesus’ name, and fill his mind with Your truth. *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* (Philippians 4:8, WEB).
Lord, heal the wounds caused by the church’s words or actions. Lead him to a community of believers who will walk with him in love and truth. Restore his trust in Your body, and help him to forgive as You have forgiven him.
Father, we pray for his future—if it is Your will, open the door for him to serve in the military and grant him the ability to learn to drive. Give him wisdom, discipline, and favor in these pursuits. May he seek Your kingdom first, trusting that all these things will be added to him as he walks in obedience.
We also pray for complete freedom from any lingering bondage tied to his past. Cleanse his body, mind, and spirit, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Let him walk in the freedom for which Christ has set him free.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw him closer to Yourself. Let him know the depth of Your love and the power of Your resurrection in his life. Strengthen him to stand firm in faith, clothed in the full armor of God, so that he may resist the enemy in every area.
We declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. Amen.
