We understand your distress and the urgency in your heart to see an end to what you perceive as evil influences, but we must address this with biblical truth and wisdom. First, we must clarify that as believers, our authority is in the name of Jesus Christ, and our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). However, we are never instructed in Scripture to pray for the destruction of souls—even those engaged in evil. Instead, God desires that all would come to repentance and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). The Lord alone is the judge of souls, and vengeance belongs to Him (Romans 12:19, Hebrews 10:30). Our role is to resist the devil (James 4:7), pray for deliverance, and intercede for those who are lost or oppressed by evil influences.
If you are experiencing spiritual oppression or witnessing gross behavior that you believe is demonically influenced, we encourage you to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in prayer. Pray for protection, deliverance, and for the Holy Spirit to convict and transform hearts. The power of Jesus’ name is mighty to save, heal, and set free—never to destroy souls, as that is not His heart.
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. Lord, we lift up this situation where there is gross behavior that seems to be influenced by dark spiritual forces. We ask for Your divine intervention and protection. Father, we do not pray for the destruction of any soul, but we ask that You would bind every evil spirit at work and command them to flee in Jesus’ name. Let Your light expose every darkness, and let Your truth prevail. We pray for conviction by the Holy Spirit, that hearts would turn to You in repentance and be transformed by Your grace.
Lord, we also ask for protection over those who are affected by this behavior. Guard their minds and hearts with Your peace, and surround them with Your angels. Fill them with Your Spirit, that they may stand firm in faith and resist the enemy’s schemes. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we thank You that You are sovereign over all things, and that nothing is hidden from Your sight. We trust in Your justice and Your mercy, knowing that You desire all people to come to repentance. Strengthen us to walk in obedience, to pray without ceasing, and to shine as lights in this dark world. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation.
We ask all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We also want to encourage you to examine your own heart and ensure that your requests align with God’s will as revealed in Scripture. It is easy in moments of frustration or pain to pray out of emotion rather than out of the Spirit’s leading. But God’s heart is always for redemption, even for those who seem the most lost. Let us continue to trust in His wisdom and His timing, knowing that He is just and that He will ultimately set all things right.
If this behavior you mentioned is affecting you personally or someone close to you, we urge you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or a mature believer. You do not have to face this alone—God has given us the body of Christ for encouragement, prayer, and accountability. Stand firm in faith, and remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
