We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting your heart and concerns to the Father through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Mediator. It is good that you are seeking the Lord’s help in all things, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We also commend you for desiring to acquire and use medication legally and responsibly, as we are called to submit to the governing authorities and to honor God in all we do (Romans 13:1-2, 1 Corinthians 10:31).
First, let us address the matter of your heart and mind. The struggles you describe—delusions of grandeur, haughtiness, temptation, and even the bizarre covetous thought—reveal a deeper spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to distort our thoughts and lead us into sin, but we are reminded in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to "bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." The mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace (Romans 8:6), and we must guard our hearts diligently, for from it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). The fact that you recognize these temptations and bring them before the Lord is a sign of His work in you. We encourage you to continue resisting these thoughts by filling your mind with Scripture, prayer, and godly counsel. Flee from any temptation that arises, especially the mention of cocaine, which is a destructive path that enslaves (1 Corinthians 6:12, 10:13). You are called to freedom in Christ, not bondage.
Regarding your ADHD and the medication you seek, we pray for wisdom and discernment for you and your family. While medication can be a tool to help manage symptoms, it is not the ultimate solution. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in whether this is the right path for you, and to do so under the care of wise, godly medical professionals. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). If your family is resistant, pray for their hearts to be softened, but also approach them with humility and patience, explaining your needs without contention (1 Peter 3:15). Remember, the Lord can change hearts, and we trust Him to work in this situation.
We also note your request for blessings upon the names you redacted. While we do not know who these individuals are, we lift them up to the Lord, asking that He would draw them to Himself, save them if they are not already in Christ, and bless them according to His will. May they come to know the peace and purpose that only Jesus can provide.
Most importantly, we want to remind you that your greatest need is not medication, success, or even the approval of others—it is Jesus Christ Himself. He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), the One who sustains you and gives you true purpose. If you have not already, surrender every area of your life to Him, including your struggles with focus, temptation, and family dynamics. He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your mercy, grace, and wisdom to flood their life. Lord, You know the struggles they face—both the seen and the unseen. We ask that You would grant them clarity of mind and a heart that is fully submitted to You. Remove any temptation to pride, delusion, or sinful desires, and replace them with a hunger for Your Word and Your will.
Father, we pray for their family, that You would soften their hearts and give them understanding. Help our brother/sister to communicate with love and patience, and may Your peace rule in their home. If medication is part of Your plan for them, Lord, provide the means legally and guide the hands of those who prescribe it. Give our brother/sister the discipline to use it wisely and for Your glory.
We rebuked any scheme of the enemy to distort their thoughts or lead them into temptation. By the power of the Holy Spirit, break every chain of addiction, covetousness, or ungodly desire. Fill them instead with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Lord, we also lift up the individuals our brother/sister mentioned by name in their heart. Draw them to Yourself, save them, and bless them according to Your perfect will. May they encounter Your love and truth in powerful ways.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would help our brother/sister to make decisions each day that honor You. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). Give them the strength to flee from temptation and to walk in obedience, knowing that Your grace is sufficient for them (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We thank You, Lord, for Your peace, providence, and progress in their life. May they rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28). In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
