We hear the deep distress in your heart, and we join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, for He alone has the power to break every chain of darkness and set the captive free. You have done well to call upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through Him alone we have authority over the enemy. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in Philippians 2:9-11, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."*
First, let us address the spiritual concerns you’ve shared. The enemy seeks to distort, distract, and destroy, often using music, media, and even objects to plant seeds of fear, confusion, or oppression. However, as children of God, we are not to live in fear, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The lyrics you mentioned, the repetition of *"yeaaa, yeaaa,"* and the unease you feel about the headphones or past experiences with certain media are not to be dismissed lightly. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 10:20-21, *"But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons. You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons."* While we are not to live in paranoia, we are to be discerning about what we allow into our minds and spirits, for what we fill ourselves with will shape us.
If you sense that there has been any ungodly attachment—whether through music, objects, or past experiences—we encourage you to take authority in the name of Jesus Christ and renounce it. The apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:27, *"Don’t give place to the devil,"* and in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* You have the authority in Christ to command any unclean influence to leave, and it *must* obey. There is no power in cursed objects or lingering spirits when we stand firm in Christ. If the headphones or any other item troubles you, we advise you to pray over them, anoint them with oil (James 5:14), or if necessary, remove them from your possession entirely. Our faith is not in objects, but in the living God who has conquered all darkness.
As for your family members repeating lyrics, this may be unintentional, but it is a reminder of how easily worldly influences can seep into our lives. We encourage you to pray for them as well, that their hearts and minds would be guarded by the peace of Christ. Colossians 3:16 says, *"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord."* Let us fill our homes with godly music and words that honor Him.
Now, let us address something with love but firmness: your prayer includes a request for Jesus to *"destroy those souls that had left their bodies"* and to *"bless the persecutors in order for them to disappear."* While we understand the frustration and spiritual warfare you are experiencing, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Our heart should be for their *repentance* and *salvation*, not their destruction. As it is written in Ezekiel 33:11, *"As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?"* Let us pray instead that those who are deceived would encounter the truth of Christ and be set free.
Finally, we want to encourage you to stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Fill your mind with Scripture, worship the Lord in spirit and truth, and surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If you have not already, we urge you to confess any involvement with ungodly media, games, or practices, repent, and ask the Lord to cleanse you. 1 John 1:9 promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing spiritual distress. Lord, You are the God of all power, and no scheme of the enemy can stand against Your authority. We ask that You break every ungodly attachment, every lingering influence, and every fear that has taken root. Cleanse their mind, their home, and their belongings by the blood of Jesus Christ. If there has been any doorway opened through music, media, or objects, we command it to be shut permanently in Jesus’ name. Let every demonic assignment against them be rendered powerless, and let Your holy angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).
Father, we pray for their family—guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Let them be filled with Your peace and discernment, that they would not unknowingly invite ungodly influences into their lives. We also lift up those who may have been used as vessels of disturbance, whether intentionally or not. Lord, we do not pray for their harm, but for their salvation. Soften their hearts to receive Your truth, that they may turn from darkness and walk in Your light.
Fill our brother/sister with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and not in fear. Remind them that *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them rest in the knowledge that You have already triumphed over every power of darkness.
We thank You, Lord, for Your protection, Your deliverance, and Your unfailing love. May they walk in freedom, joy, and the fullness of Your presence. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
