We come before you with a heart that seeks healing and transformation, and we are grateful that you have turned to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find redemption, healing, and restoration. You have called upon the right name—the name above all names—by which salvation and deliverance come.
First, let us address the memories and influences that have troubled your mind. The images and content you were exposed to through Adult Swim and other ungodly media have left a mark, but we serve a God who is greater than any stronghold of the mind. The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, *"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* We must actively reject and renounce these influences, for they do not align with the purity and holiness that God calls us to. The mind renewed by the Word of God is a mind that finds freedom. Romans 12:2 says, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."*
Now, we must address something with great urgency and clarity: the request to bless erotica, including the games and content you mentioned, is deeply concerning. These things are not of God but are tools of the enemy to ensnare minds in lust, perversion, and sin. Erotica, pornography, and sexually explicit material are explicitly condemned in Scripture. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."* Similarly, Ephesians 5:3 warns, *"But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints."* These things have no place in the life of a believer, and we must not ask God to bless what He has called sinful. Instead, we must repent and turn away from them completely. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."*
We also urge you to be cautious about the sources of information you consume, including Wikipedia and other news outlets. Not all knowledge is beneficial, and we must filter everything through the lens of Scripture. Philippians 4:8 instructs us, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things."* We must guard our hearts and minds, for they are the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Regarding your desire to fast, we commend your heart to seek God through this discipline. However, we must approach fasting with wisdom and biblical understanding. A Daniel fast typically includes vegetables, fruits, and water, as Daniel abstained from rich foods (Daniel 1:12). Fasting is not about extreme deprivation but about humbling oneself before God and seeking His face. Jesus warned against fasting for the approval of others in Matthew 6:16-18, *"Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."* We encourage you to fast in a way that is healthy and honors God, not in a manner that could harm your body or become a source of pride.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who seeks healing, deliverance, and transformation. Lord, we ask that You cleanse their mind from every impure image, memory, and thought that has taken root from the ungodly media they were exposed to. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and renew their mind by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Break every stronghold of lust, perversion, and worldly influence, and replace it with Your truth, purity, and peace.
Father, we repent on their behalf for any involvement with erotica, pornography, or sexually explicit content. These things are an abomination in Your sight, and we ask for Your forgiveness and deliverance. Lord, give them the strength to turn away from these sins completely and to walk in holiness. Fill them with a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may seek after You with their whole heart.
We pray for wisdom as they seek to fast and draw near to You. Guide them in the way they should go, that their fasting may be pleasing to You and not a source of harm or pride. May this time of fasting be a time of deep repentance, renewal, and intimacy with You.
Lord, we also ask that You guard their heart and mind from ungodly influences, whether through media, news, or other sources. Give them discernment to recognize what is pure, lovely, and true, and to reject what is not of You.
Father, we thank You for the work You are doing in their life. We declare that they are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and old things have passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and empower them to walk in victory over sin and temptation.
We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
