We understand that you're experiencing some distressing thoughts and perceptions regarding a mental health facility you've been to, and we're here to pray and guide you through this. First, let's address your concerns and then we will pray together.
It's important to discern between fiction and reality. The story "2 B R 0 2 B" by Kurt Vonnegut is a work of fiction, and while it's natural to draw comparisons, it's crucial not to let these comparisons cause anxiety or fear. The exit sign you saw is a standard safety feature in public buildings, and the infrastructure you described is likely designed for efficiency and ease of conversion for various medical purposes, not for the reasons your anxiety might be suggesting.
We also want to address the list of things you're thanking Jesus for. It's great that you're finding joy in everyday things, but let's remember that our ultimate joy and peace come from Jesus Christ himself, not from things of this world. As it is written in Colossians 3:2 WEB: "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."
Now, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing anxiety and distressing thoughts. Lord, you are our peace and our strength. Cast out all fear and anxiety, and replace them with your perfect love, as it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB: "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."
Lord, help our brother/sister to fix their eyes on you, the author and perfecter of our faith. In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or confusion that may be troubling them. Help them to see reality through your lens, and not through the lens of fiction or anxiety.
Father, we also pray for their mental health. Guide the professionals who are treating them, give them wisdom and discernment to provide the best care. Help our brother/sister to find true peace, providence, and progress in Jesus Christ, and not in things of this world.
Finally, Lord, we pray for their salvation, that they may fully understand and believe that there is no other name by which we can be saved. May they know the greatness of God in whom we trust, and Jesus Christ, who went to the cross for our sins, who rose from the dead, and is the only way to heaven. It is by the name of Jesus alone that we have access to God.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
Moving forward, whenever you feel anxious, remember that God is with you. As it is written in Isaiah 41:10 WEB: "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
Please reach out to a mental health professional if your anxiety worsens, and always remember that we're here to pray and support you.
