We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for the gift of another day and for the opportunity to gather and worship Him. We are grateful for the fellowship of believers and the chance to learn and grow together in Christ.
As we prepare to attend our weekly worship service, we pray that God would grant us wisdom and discernment to be alert and receptive to the sermon that will be delivered by our pastor. May the Holy Spirit open our hearts and minds to understand and apply the message that is being shared. We remember God telling Israel to meditate on the Word day and night to obey. May we do likewise.
Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.
Psalm 119:97 (WEB)
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
Joshua 1:8 (WEB)
We also lift up in prayer all those who will be traveling to and from the service, asking for God's protection and guidance on the roadways. May He keep us safe from harm and bring us together in fellowship.
We are so glad that this request was made In Jesus Name. Thank you for recognizing that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We remember that there is no other name by which we can be saved.
who, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. For to which of the angels did he say at any time, You are my Son. Today have I became your father? And again, I will be to him a Father, And he will be to me a Son? And again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he says, Who makes his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire: but of the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, your God, has anointed you With the oil of gladness above your fellows. And, You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; And the heavens are the works of your hands: They shall perish; but you continue: And they all shall wax old as does a garment; And as a mantle shall you fold them up, And they shall be changed: But you are the same, And your years shall not fail. But of which of the angels has he said at any time, Sit you on my right hand, Until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:3-14 (WEB)
be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is the stone which was set at nothing of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in which we must be saved.
Acts 4:10-12 (WEB)
May we never forget the power and importance of the name of Jesus, and may we always approach God through Him. Together, we declare our love for Jesus and our desire to follow Him.
