We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for protection, discernment, wisdom, and strength. First, we must address the need to approach God in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you truly experience the fullness of God’s protection and guidance.
Now, we lift up your request for protection over you and your loved one. The Lord is our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We pray that He would surround you both with His heavenly hosts, shielding you from all harm and evil. May His angels encamp around you, guarding you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). We rebuke any schemes of the enemy meant to bring fear, confusion, or strife into your lives. The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but we resist him, standing firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).
For discernment, we ask the Lord to grant you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17). May your hearts be enlightened to know His will and to walk in a manner worthy of His calling. When dealing with trespassers, neighbors, coworkers, or managers, may the Holy Spirit guide your words and actions, so that you may respond with grace, truth, and love. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We pray for strength to endure any trials or challenges you may face. The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart trusts in Him, and you are helped (Psalm 28:7). May you find your strength in Him alone, knowing that His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When you are weary or overwhelmed, may you remember that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
For wisdom in dealing with difficult people, we pray that you would be slow to speak and quick to listen (James 1:19). May the Lord give you the words to speak in love and truth, even when faced with hostility or injustice. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." We rebuke any spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment that may seek to take root in your heart. Instead, we pray that you would extend forgiveness as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13), and that you would overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
We also encourage you to examine your own heart and actions in these relationships. Are there areas where you may need to extend grace, humility, or repentance? The Lord calls us to live at peace with everyone, as much as it depends on us (Romans 12:18). If there are unresolved conflicts or sins, we urge you to seek reconciliation and forgiveness, both from God and from those you may have wronged.
Lastly, we pray that you would find your identity and security in Christ alone. The world may bring trials and tribulations, but Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). May you rest in His promises and find peace in His presence. We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your defender, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one and their loved one to You. Protect them from all harm and evil, and grant them Your wisdom, discernment, and strength. Guide their steps and order their days according to Your perfect will. Help them to walk in love, truth, and humility, reflecting Your light in all their interactions. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy and declare Your victory over their lives. May they find their hope and security in You alone, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
