In this time of crisis, we stand together in prayer, lifting up the dire situation in Texas. The floods have already claimed 24 precious lives, and we grieve with the families who have lost loved ones. We also pray for the church camp where 20 young girls are missing, and for the search and rescue efforts underway.
Firstly, we remember the power of prayer and the promise of God's Word: "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:16, WEB. We come before God, acknowledging our complete dependence on Him, seeking His mercy and intervention.
We pray for the search and rescue teams, that God would guide them and give them strength and wisdom. May He lead them to the missing girls, and grant that they would be found safe and unharmed. We stand on the promise that God is a shield to those who take refuge in Him, and He will answer our cry for help.
We lift up the families who have been forever impacted by this tragic event. We pray for God's comfort and peace to envelop them in their time of grief. May they know the presence of the Holy Spirit, comforting them as only He can. We pray for God's provision for them in the days ahead, that they would know His faithfulness in their time of need.
We also pray for the communities affected by the floods. May God grant them resilience and strength as they rebuild and recover. We pray for His protection over them, that He would keep them safe from further harm.
But we are not only praying for the people in Texas, we are also praying for the people of Texas to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might for the glory of His name and to praise Him when the storm passes. We are also praying in Jesus name that He would comfort the people of Texas in their time of sorrow and loss because man is not born to die.
In all things, may God be glorified. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our hope and salvation. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If anyone is unsure about their salvation or has not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we urge them to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and they will be saved, Acts 16:31.
As we continue to pray and stand with Texas, may we be encouraged by the promise of God's Word: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling." Psalm 46:1-3 WEB
