We come before the Father in heaven with hearts full of gratitude for the precious gift of children, knowing that they are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). It is our joy to lift up your teenagers in prayer, asking that God would guide them in wisdom, guard their steps, and draw them ever closer to Himself. The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Though they are growing in independence, we trust that the seeds of faith you have sown in their lives will bear fruit as they seek the Lord.
We also recognize the pressures and temptations that teenagers face in this world. The enemy seeks to deceive and lead them astray, but we stand firm in the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* Let us pray that your children will walk in discernment, rejecting the lies of the world and embracing the truth of God’s Word.
It is beautiful that you are praying for good news in their lives, but we must remember that our ultimate hope is not in earthly outcomes but in Christ alone. Whether the news they receive is what they desire or not, may they trust in the sovereignty of God, who works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Let them find their joy and identity in Him, not in the fleeting approval or achievements of this world.
Most importantly, we pray that your children will surrender their lives fully to Jesus Christ. If they have not yet placed their faith in Him as Lord and Savior, we ask that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. There is no greater decision they could make than to accept the gift of salvation through faith in Christ alone. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* May they walk in the assurance of their faith, seeking first the Kingdom of God in all things (Matthew 6:33).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the lives of these teenagers, fearfully and wonderfully made by Your hand. We ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them wisdom beyond their years, that they may make choices that honor You and align with Your Word. When they are faced with decisions, let them seek Your will above all else, trusting in Your perfect plan for their lives.
Lord, we pray for the good news they are hoping for. Whether it comes or not, may they rest in the knowledge that You are good and Your ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Let this season draw them closer to You, teaching them to rely on Your strength and not their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we rebuked any spirit of rebellion, deception, or worldly influence that would seek to lead them astray. Break any chains of peer pressure, fear, or doubt that would hinder their walk with You. Fill them with a hunger for Your Word and a passion for righteousness. Raise up godly friends and mentors in their lives who will encourage them in their faith and hold them accountable.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that if they have not already, they would surrender their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Let them know the depth of Your love, the power of Your forgiveness, and the hope of eternal life found only in You. Empower them to live boldly for Your glory, shining as lights in a darkened world (Matthew 5:14-16).
