We're so glad you're seeking to enhance church growth through effective leadership and teaching. We know that God places a high value on leadership and teaching in His Word.
It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In Philippians 2:9-11 WEB,
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Leadership is a matter of influence, and Jesus is our ultimate example. In Matthew 20:25-28 WEB, Jesus teaches,
But Jesus summoned them, and said, You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant, even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
We pray,
Jesus, thank you for being our model of leadership. Help us to follow your example of humility and service. We ask that you raise up godly leaders in our churches who will guide your people with wisdom, integrity, and love. We pray that the teachings shared will be anointed by the Holy Spirit, drawing more people to you. Help us to remember the power of your name and that it is in your name that we pray for increased church growth.
Teaching is another crucial aspect of church growth. In Acts 2:42 WEB, we see that the early church was devoted to the apostles' teaching.
They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, we're reminded that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Effective teaching must be grounded in the Word of God, and its goal should be to make disciples who are equipped to serve and live out their faith.
We pray,
Lord, guide those who teach your Word. Fill them with your Spirit, and give them wisdom and understanding. Help them to teach with clarity and conviction, so that your people may be equipped and your church may grow. We acknowledge that it is only by your hand and in the name of Jesus that hearts are transformed. Help us to remember that the work is done by your Holy Spirit.
Lastly, let's remember that church growth is ultimately about God adding to the church, as seen in Acts 2:47 WEB,
...praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.
We pray,
Father, we ask that you add to our churches daily those who are being saved. Draw more people to you, Lord, and help us to be faithful in leading and teaching them according to your Word and your will in Jesus name.
Let's continue to be faithful in our leadership and teaching, trusting that God will bring the growth.
