Beloved of All
Please pray for my little sister she is battling systemic scleroderma and her hands are progressing faster than they should and they are sending her to ### cause they said they can do no more here for her. Please pray for healing and protection of her organs and softening of her body and doctor's with knowledge. Pray for her anxieties about the unknown. I pray for anyone else gping through the same 🙏

We join you in lifting up your little sister before the throne of grace and we are deeply moved by your love for her and your burden for her healing. To hear that her systemic scleroderma is progressing quickly in her hands and that her doctors feel they can do no more locally and must send her to a more specialized center is heavy, and we weep with you over the uncertainty and fear this brings.

We serve a God who sees her body, who formed her and knows every tissue and organ, and who is able to heal and to sustain. We take comfort in His promises that He is our healer, who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; Psalm 103:3, and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. Even when hardening has come upon her skin and her body feels tight and painful, we know our God can bring softening and restoration, for nothing is too hard for Him. We also pray for the protection of her internal organs, her lungs, heart, kidneys and digestive system, which this disease so often attacks, asking the Lord in His mercy to preserve and guard what man cannot.

We also lift up her anxieties about the unknown, and your own, for the Lord cares deeply about our fear. He says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We are encouraged to hear your heart to pray for anyone else going through the same suffering, and we join you in that, for the Lord is close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18.

We want to gently share something important we noticed, that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We bring this up in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. To come to God we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins and rose again, and call upon His name. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His precious name that we can boldly ask for healing, peace and wisdom.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, on behalf of this precious little sister. Lord, You know her by name, You see the progression in her hands, the hardening and pain, and the fear of what this disease may do. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her. Soften her skin and tissues, ease her pain, restore circulation and movement to her hands, and protect her lungs, heart, kidneys and all her organs from further damage. Lord, we ask You to halt the progression of this autoimmune disease and, if it is Your will, to bring complete healing that testifies to Your power. We pray for the doctors at the new center, grant them wisdom, knowledge and discernment beyond human understanding, guide their tests and treatment plans, and give them compassion for her. Your word says If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5, so we ask that wisdom now.

We also lift up her heart and mind, and her family who loves her. Replace anxiety about the unknown with Your perfect peace. We pray as You have taught us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Help her to cast all her worries on You, because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7, and to find rest as You invite, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray for safe travel, for provision for the family, and for strength for each day. We also remember before You every other person battling systemic scleroderma and autoimmune disease, comfort them and let them know they are not forgotten. We ask all this in the healing and saving name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every fear and every update to the Lord in Jesus name, to stay close to His word, and to surround your sister with believing prayer. The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. Keep trusting Him, even in the unknown, for He holds her future and He holds you.

We hear how much you love your little sister and how hard it is to watch her hands worsen quickly and to be told her local team has done all they can and she needs to go elsewhere for care. That kind of referral brings so many unknowns, and it makes sense you are carrying worry for her organs, for the tightening in her body, and for the anxiety she feels about what comes next.

A long and unpredictable illness can leave a person feeling fragile and vulnerable, and it affects the whole family too. It is normal to feel helpless and anxious when so much is out of your hands, and to want both healing and clear answers at once.

One small thing that helps many families in this kind of transition is going with her to the new center with a short written list together, current symptoms, medicines, and the questions that weigh on you most. Having it on paper can make it easier to remember what to ask and to keep track of what the new doctors advise. If her anxiety feels heavy, letting her care team know can help them support her whole person, not just the physical symptoms, alongside ongoing medical care. And as you support her, we hope you have others supporting you as well.

Father, we lift this dear sister to You and ask for Your tender care over her. We ask You to protect her organs, to ease what is tightening in her body, and to give wisdom and knowledge to each doctor who cares for her. Calm her heart in the face of the unknown and draw near to her and to her family with Your peace day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your tender and loving plea for your little sister has been heard with deep sympathy, and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. To see one so dear afflicted in her body, her hands hardening and the disease progressing swiftly, and to hear that those who have cared for her can do no more and must send her elsewhere, is a heavy burden. Yet what a blessed God He is, thus to interest Himself in the sorrows of mankind, to give His infinite mind and heart to this wondrous work of healing the wounds of our lost humanity.

There is much that is unknown to us in such an hour. The path ahead, the course of this systemic scleroderma, the condition of the inward organs, the help that may be found in another place, all these things are unknown to you and to those who love her. But they are not unknown to the Lord. He knows the bitterness which each heart feels alone, and the abyss of fear within our own bosom. When we are distressed from some unknown cause we may ask Him who has immense wisdom for a cordial to raise us, for His Word says, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. The unknown depths of our trouble are met by the unknown heights of His mercy.

You speak also of anxieties about the unknown, and this is natural to our frame. Yet have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Therefore we charge you as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to play the part of faith and let faith overcome fear. The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy. Hear His own whisper to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It will be disobedience to be afraid when Jesus Himself says, Fear not. Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you, is the gracious command and privilege for you and for your sister in this trial. Labour to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and dishonours God, as though the arm which piled the heavens could be palsied.

We look also to that abundant healing power which is in Jesus Christ. He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction in His hand. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves do not wither, and they change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and He very speedily cares for bodily diseases which urge us to seek the Physician. Though we are told that as need is banished and infirmity is shut out in glory all disease shall be forever removed, yet even now He builds up His people and sends streams of healing down to men below.

Let us pray together.

O Thou great Physician, Father of mercies, we bring before Thee this little sister afflicted with systemic scleroderma and other hidden autoimmune infirmities. Thou seest how her hands are hardening and how quickly the disease advances. Lay Thy hand upon her, we beseech Thee. In Thy mercy soften what is hardened, protect her inward organs from harm, and stay the progress of this disease according to Thy will. Give to the physicians to whom she is sent true knowledge, wisdom and skill, and guide their minds and hands. We ask for healing if it be Thy gracious will, and at all times for sustaining grace.

Lord, speak peace to her anxieties about the unknown. Let her hear Thee say, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Cast her care upon Thee who carest for her, and keep her heart in perfect peace as she trusts in Thee. Comfort also this dear one who intercedes for her, and all others who go through the same fiery trial and feel alone in their bitterness. May they find that Thou art near, that Thou buildest up Jerusalem and gatherest the outcasts, and that Thy leaves are for their healing.

We ask this not for our merit, but through Jesus Christ our Lord, who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows, and in whose name is all our hope. Amen.
