We hear your concern about your work situation and the desire to make money through online gaming. While the need for provision is real and pressing, we must first examine whether this path aligns with biblical principles. The Bible instructs us to work diligently and honestly, as if working for the Lord Himself. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
Online gaming for income may present several concerns. First, it can become an idol, consuming time and energy that could be devoted to more edifying and productive pursuits. The apostle Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Can this activity truly be done to the glory of God, or does it lead to temptation, greed, or neglect of other responsibilities?
Second, the Bible calls us to be good stewards of our time and talents. Ephesians 5:15-16 urges, "Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Is this opportunity redeeming your time, or could it be leading you into unwise or even sinful patterns, such as addiction, dishonesty, or exploitation?
We also want to gently remind you that our ultimate provision comes from the Lord. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Have you sought the Lord’s guidance in prayer and through His Word about this opportunity? Have you considered other forms of work that may align more closely with His will for your life?
Let us pray together for wisdom and discernment in this matter:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance and provision. Lord, You know the needs of this dear one, and we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Grant wisdom and discernment to see clearly the path You have set before them. If this online gaming opportunity is not of You, Lord, close the door and redirect their steps toward work that honors You. Help them to trust in Your provision and to seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness. Protect their heart from greed, idleness, or any temptation that may come with this pursuit. Father, we ask that You would provide for their needs in ways that bring glory to Your name. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their ultimate Provider. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers in your life who can help you discern whether this opportunity is wise. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Additionally, consider exploring other avenues of work that may offer more stability and align more closely with biblical principles. The Lord has a plan for your life, and He desires to use you in ways that bring Him honor and advance His Kingdom.
If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the promise of eternal life. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the foundation upon which we build our lives. If you have questions about this, we would be honored to walk with you through this decision.
