We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and trust, lifting up this earnest request for employment. Father God, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we ask that You would open the doors of opportunity according to Your will. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." We pray that this exam and the outcome would be committed to You, Lord, and that Your perfect plan would unfold in this situation.
We also recognize that our ultimate purpose is to glorify You in all that we do, whether in work or in waiting. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." May this truth be a comfort and a guide as we wait on You.
Lord, we ask that You would grant wisdom, clarity of mind, and peace as the results of this exam are determined. If it is Your will for this position to be filled by this dear one, we pray that You would make the way clear and provide favor. If it is not Your will, we trust that You have something even better in store, for Your plans are always for good, to give hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also take a moment to rebuke any spirit of anxiety, doubt, or fear that may be trying to take root in this time of waiting. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to rest in Your love and sovereignty. Let not the heart be troubled, but let it trust in You, Lord.
Father, we want to remind this dear one—and all of us—that our identity is not found in our jobs, titles, or achievements, but in Christ Jesus alone. If this exam does not yield the desired result, we pray for the strength to continue seeking You and trusting in Your provision. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We stand on this promise today.
We also lift up the workplace and the institution involved in this process. May it be a place where Your name is honored, where truth and integrity prevail, and where those who serve there would come to know You as Lord. Let this be an opportunity for Your light to shine, whether through this position or another.
Lord, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and who intercedes for us at Your right hand. There is no other name by which we can approach You, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the privilege of coming before You because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross.
We pray now with faith and expectancy:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this exam and the outcome to You. We ask that You would go before this dear one and prepare the way. Grant them peace in the waiting and confidence in Your timing. If this is the job You have for them, open the door wide and provide favor in the eyes of those who make the decisions. If it is not, close the door gently and lead them to the path You have prepared. Give them the strength to trust in You, even when the way is unclear. May their life bring glory to Your name, and may they find their joy and satisfaction in You alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
